I personally thought it was nice. It almost moved me to see Tetsuwan Atom alongside Son Goku & friends. It's kinda like an ode to all the popular anime/manga in each each eras (Tetsuwan Atom being in the 60s-early 80s, Dragon Ball being from mid 80s-late 90s, & One Piece being the new generation.). Overall, the second ones the best. I also found your last comments as ironic because most people would say the same for Dragon Ball, yet its still doing as good as it was years ago & I could imagine its the same for Tetsuwan Atom.KinoFourpaws wrote:The first one was kinda strange, but I spazzed when I saw Atom/Astro Boy. What the hell is he doing in a feature with contemporary anime characters? I know they came out with a new show for him in the past few years, but it seems kinda strange nonetheless. I mean, my MOM's familiar with him, and she's near 50! He's like one of those classics that should be admired in a showcase or something rather than mixed in with modern pop culture. That's like introducing The Beatles to My Chemical Romance.Sebastian (SB) wrote:It seems that "pekindbz" (Pekin Duck) has also released both Global Panic Adventures (aka DBZ/One Piece/Tetsuwan Atom Crossover being played at Odaiba Boken-Oh 2003 & 2004).
First One with DBZ/One Piece/Tetsuwan Atom characters.
Second one with DBZ/One Piece characters.
Their all in good quality & much easier to view compared to a lot of the other ones. He's got a bunch of other cool stuff too.

Just found a site that has LOTS of rare footage. Some of it is posted, and most of it is Japanese TV spots, but they are pretty nice.

Is this a Hyper Dimension commerical? I saw "hyper" in the description.
It's called Hyper DragonBall Anime. As written over on the "DBZ You've Never Seen" feature page:
Created for an exhibition across Japan in 1993, this is a short (~three minutes) feature showcasing traditional 2D animation (some taken directly from the show and movies) mixed in with all-new 3D animation. The CG was done on the Silicon Graphics-brand Indigo Elan, and was quite advanced for its day! The production took three months to create. With some interesting music, characters fight (and dance!) in a style you've definitely never seen before.

The dances in that video seriously freaked me out. By the time they are fighting, one second it's Perfect Cell, the next it's final form Freeza, then Semi-Perfect Cell, then 100% Freeza...awesome, but it kinda looks weird in motion.
Also, did anyone see the Super Sonic Warriors Japanese trailer? It has some pretty neat digital animation in it, although it's short, it includes some SSJ2 Gohan vs. Cell, so it'll be drool worthy for me!

I think it would be a good idea to make a new topic, sticky it, and post the links we've uncovered in here in a list for all to see, obviously giving credit where it is due.
I reckon about 99% of the Dragon Ball community don't even realise this stuff exists. It would be great to have a place to store and archive all this footage (or at least links to it) so that the rest of the community can access and enjoy it.
There's so much awesome footage in here, it'd be a shame not to.

I love the 3-D animation in that commercial. Even though the 3-D animation pieces were all one-second snippets and the movements were repeated and looked like a fast-moving slideshow, it was just soooo good.

New to the forum? Just want to know when you'll hit your next posting rank? Ever wondered why some users have special titles, and what they mean? The answers to all these questions and more are waiting for you in the Kanzenshuu Member Hierarchy Guide!!
