On the subject of Yamcha, I was gonna mention my theory on how he had a child in GT. Since in the TV Special Goku Jr has a friend who is a mix of Oolong/Yamcha (who was Goku's first two male friends) while he is voiced by Yamcha.

I've always found these little comments from Toriyama amusing in their complete randomness. I especially like his comments on Yamcha. They remind me of that time someone asked Stallone what happened to the Rocky villains.

Clubber Lang became a born-again Christian, retired from boxing, and became a TV fight commentator.
Tommy Gun, disgraced by his prison sentence and losing a fight to a middle aged Rocky after betraying him, became a 3rd rate wrestler in the Midwest.
Ivan Drago went back to the USSR in shame, was mocked by his peers, became an alcoholic, and eventually killed himself.
