Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
More action and a terrible wish!? I'm mostly curious to see how other dimensions are explained. Many unanswered questions. Can anyone take a stab at what this wish might be?

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Initials of the title?

By the way, was recently watching DBZ Movie 12 and I never realized how well balanced it is. They seem to hit every important element of the series and combine in them in a natural manner; there's plenty of humour, but at the same time you've also got the amazing fight scenes, as well as the character moments with Goku and Vegeta. The film's also got a sense of scale and there are plenty of different settings. Throw in a hunt for the Dragon Balls and man, if this new movie can produce something similar, I will be quite pleased.

1- Goku and Vegeta wish to fight the strongest god in the 12 universes like what Retan saidCareless Saiyajin wrote:Can anyone take a stab at what this wish might be?
2- Going ssjg has a big price to pay which they found out how to reach from the wish in BOG
3- They wish to be taken to where ever the gods of the 12 universes have thier meetings and a war breaks out with the Z fighters or Goku and Vegeta in the middle of it
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

You guys can now inludge yourself with the beautifully drawn Shenlong to your heart's content without the inference from Goku.

That is a teaser. OuOKanzenshuu translation wrote:The worst wish in history. That is the beginning of despair.
On one hand it could be something with massively dark consequences. On the other, it could just be a stealth-gag ala "..but the dragon made Pilaf Gang too young..." schtick.
Man...this is a good one; this is one to ruminate on for a while.

You're second guess striked me as very realistic. Going ssjg accomplished via information from the wish could have great consequences! Very interesting idea.sintzu wrote:1- Goku and Vegeta wish to fight the strongest god in the 12 universes like what Retan saidCareless Saiyajin wrote:Can anyone take a stab at what this wish might be?

The last wish, Pilaf and the others getting old, before the Dragon Balls overflow of negative energy with the next wish.
Probably not but it would be a good connection to the anime.

Hmm very interesting ideas. A war between the gods of the 12 universes. Beerus and Whis returning.

So, wait...
監督 (kantoku) is used for 'director' in Toei Animation films. Yamamuro Tadayoshi is credited in this Oricon article as being the 監督. Holy crap, talk about a promotion!監督は、アニメ『ドラゴンボール』シリーズの作画監督を長年務めた山室直儀氏が務める。

Does that mean he's not going to be in charge of the character designs anymore? (PLEASE SAY YES.)JulieYBM wrote:So, wait...監督 (director) is used for 'director' in Toei Animation films. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
You have got to be kidding me. Why in the world are they promoting him to director? He's a self-serving, narcissistic, and terrible animator who doesn't take integrity in animation anymore. His best days as an animator are long over. Geez, let Kadyoshi Nakatsuru take over. He knows how to animate Dragon Ball...JulieYBM wrote:So, wait...

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Yamamuro drew the first key visual, but it's not entirely impossible he will hand the role of character designer over. Then again, he might retain it and reuse most of his designs from the prior film. This is really weird, because Yamamuro is the character designer of Disk Wars: Avengers right now. Of course, he hasn't done any corrections or key animation himself so I have to wonder if that is because he was already involved in this film?

Eh, doing both isn't 'greed'. Call him a shitty designer, sure, but 'greedy' is just an unwarranted insult.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I have a feeling Yamamuro is going to be a bit greedy...

You seem to be drawing a lot of conclusions about a guy based solely on the quality of his work with a cartoon.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:You have got to be kidding me. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
How is that an insult? None of us are entertained by him as the designer. Now that he's promoted to director, I would rather he hand down his old position to someone else. Keeping both positions would mean he wants to have his way of keeping the same animation style. He just won't go away.JulieYBM wrote:Eh, doing both isn't 'greed'. A lot of animators animated Movie 14 (BoG) and Yamamuro corrected all the keys drawn by said animators except Shida's. Had he minimized his corrections, the movie would have looked much better. Having to watch his bland models from start to finish isn't fun. It's why all episodes from different studios are great because they were all animated by different kinds of animators with less correction. I mean, seriously, look at the episode where Vegeta went all out against Recoom. You can see all those hard work and beautiful details. Yamamuro has lost his touch on these.

'The worst wish in history, that is the beginning of despair' eh? That definitely gets me interested in where this might be going.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
That's what an animation supervisor does - he makes sure the frames adheres to his style. DBZ Episode 64 undoubtedly also had tight supervision to make sure everything was in line with Toriyama's style, especially given that it had more time put in it to make sure the frames looked good compared to episodes from lesser studios. You can call him a bad supervisor all you want, but don't start making baseless accusations about his character simply because he's not doing a good job in your opinion.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:jjgp1112 wrote:You seem to be drawing a lot of conclusions about a guy based solely on the quality of his work with a cartoon
