Worst Wish In History - Speculation

The tagline for the next DBZ movie - "The worst wish in history is the beginning of despair." assuming this continues from BoG, here's a theory of mine: and it's all Vegeta.

After Battle Of Gods, Vegeta was determined to be the next Super Saiyan god. In the next movie, he actually becomes a SSJG in the movie's exposition due to whatever the plot calls for. Therefore, he summons the Dragon Balls to make a wish to Shenron to test that newfound power.

That wish: To fight the strongest warrior in existence.


This leads to the strongest god imaginable slowly awakening, his awakening possibly leading to all the other gods awakening, causing mayhem and destruction throughout the universe, as the strongest god makes its way towards Vegeta.

That's my theory on the wish, feel free to comment. If this movie focuses on Vegeta, I tried to think of something that would fit his character.

I like your guess, but I can't see it happening when Goku almost lost the Earth to Beerus, who would've been weaker than the being they'd be wishing for.

My guess is that they wish for the means to travel between the alternate universes. It's the only fairly logical thing I can think of, interested to hear other theories too though.

Honestly, I don't have the first clue what it could be...and I hope it completely surprises me. Sure, the next logical place to take it is with more Gods of Destruction...but that would be a bit boring IMO. What Toriyama has always excelled at is surprising us - a lot of the stuff that we talk about as bad plot twists now, would have been simply shocking in an exciting way back when the series was first running and it wasn't possible to know where everything ends up. So basically, I'm hoping for something completely unexpected again.

So I went through Kanzenshuu's episode list for DB and Z looking for the word "zetsubou" to get a sense of scale. It appears three times.

So two out of three of them are describing Future Trunks' timeline, and the third is Kaioshin's thoughts on what horrible things Buu has brought upon them.

Conclusion; this isn't a gag-wish; it's definitely something super-dangerous/dark.

By having a tag line with "worst wish in history", it has to be something evil, not just a goofy wish hopefully.

The "most evil" wish sounds like it's beyond a villain wishing for immortaility or something. That's up in the region of Goku never being born. That specific example would be a bit too timey-wimey, especially when it came to undoing it, but it has to be something evil and catastrophic.

What makes you think he's anywhere near powerful enough? He couldn't even teleport Goku to Earth against his own will. By that logic you could have just wished for Vegeta and Nappa to become good guys.

They already blew the Earth up in the Buu arc; granted, it got wished back, but I don't know what could be worse than something that results in the whole planet being blown up.

What? he is shown at the very end of the manga determined to beat Goku.

In my view a terrible wish sounds like:

1. Goku or Vegeta, or a new villain like Hoi from Movie 13 makes a wish that provokes very dangerous situation. A wish like: Shenlon, please, open a gate between universes! Shenlon: This wish can be granted, but it's immensly dangerous! And Goku says lying: But this is Beerus-sama's will! Shenlon: Oh, Be-Beerus-sama.... Your wish has been granted!

2. Pilaf and his gang tries to make a wish to become adults again, but they notice Goku's or somebody else's approaching, and angrily say something, like: I wish we were in an other universe where this Goku guy doesn't exist.(Allmost the same issue like in the first episode of GT)And Shenlon: Your wish has been granted.

3. Or something new.

Maybe the wish itself is fine, but the Dragon Balls accumulate too much negative energy to grant it and Toriyama's (OR Yamamuro's, since it's not all up to Toriyama) versions of the Evil Dragons appear and we get an alternate Evil Dragon Saga.
