Kumite?

Post by Kaboom » Mon Sep 11, 2006 9:33 pm

Hey, there. I was just flipping through my copy of Viz's DBZ volume 20, when I noticed a certain confusing chunk of vocabulary. Just after Goten transforms in front of Gohan for the first time, Gohan, along with asking his kid brother if he wants to spar, asks him if he knows what "kumite" is.

So what the blinkety-blank was he talking about? What is this "kumite?"

Based on Goten's response and the context of the question, I would assume it has something to do with the Kame-style martial arts. Would somebody please clear it up for me?

"Kumite" just means sparring. I'll let Wikido the rest of the talk for me.
