I see Darth Maul and Legolas.
Well this is a... unique style. Yet all I can notice is how Neiz is about four feet too short.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Future DBM artists: THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT.
I bet Picardi isn't even a fan of Dragonball. Because everything we have seen so far from this blessed artist is so NOT like anything we've ever seen. Sure he's emulating Star Wars, but to see it in all places here, it's wow. And I'm cool with that.

Which one is universe 7 again?
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)

Fantastic art style, but the story is already reaching Star Wars prequels levels of overbloated political nonsense.

I actually liked the senate scenes in the prequels. That room was awesome.
It's not bad, but I don't particularly care for it in conjunction with Dragon Ball. Just not my cup of tea.mAcChaos wrote:I'm legit mad that theres people who actually think this art is bad

Are you serious? Wow.mAcChaos wrote:I'm legit mad that theres people who actually think this art is bad
My only complaint about the art is that leaving it in black and white does it a disservice. This deserved a good colorist.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Half the comments on the DBM page were just "this is shit when is this special over."TonyTheTiger wrote:Are you serious? Wow.mAcChaos wrote:I'm legit mad that theres people who actually think this art is bad

You could say it's not stylistically fit for DB but it's definitely amazing art.

Yeah but it seems to need colour. Sorry kinda look "ugly" without color. Kinda hard to explain. Great art but looks bad without color.mAcChaos wrote:Half the comments on the DBM page were just "this is shit when is this special over."TonyTheTiger wrote:Are you serious? If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm kind of in the middle myself. This kind of art style, on Dragon Ball, is certainly weird. At the same time though, the art style in of itself is so amazingly freakin' droolworthy that I find myself barely even noticing that problem and just enjoying the art.
A true catch-22, indeed.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Of the previous specials I enjoyed the Gast one quite a bit, so I'm looking forward to this too. While I'd rather be reading the regular story, it's not as bad as the "everybody dies" specials we used to get over and over.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
