Movie 13 for $10.99 at Circuit City

Post by theoriginalbilis » Mon Sep 11, 2006 5:24 am

My weekly ad (comes in the Sunday paper) shows Movie 13 for $10.99. Looks like I'm picking it up there instead of Best Buy.

Funny thing is, my Circuit City never stocks any anime DVDs, but we'll see since it's in the ad.

I figured I'd let you all know, so whoever wanted to get Movie 13 could for less than $15.

Adios! :o

You're so lucky out there in the US. That DVD would've cost about 25-35 dollars out here.
But thanks for the tip anyways!

Yeah, I already mentioned it here, but I guess no one else except Jrinu noticed that :D.

And again, yeah, most of my DVD stores don't have that much of a selection when it comes to their anime (it's like "oh, DVD #5 of YYH... whee"), but apparently, they're making an acception this time around. Aside from movie 7 with their Burger King Toys, this is the only other DBZ movie I've seen hyped on TV.

It's odd, why is this the DBZ movie that's so wide spread and dirt cheap? They could've been doing that all along with every movie, but now they wait until the series if finished being distributed?

Well, considering there's two new movie box-sets late this year, I guess they figure sell movie 13 cheap in certain places to not turn off buyers, as some people may just wait for a box-set (DBZ movies 7, 9, 12, and 13?). Also, why question their price strategy? We're looking to get $50 season sets starting next year (Dragonbox quality being widely speculated >>). But hey, who really knows what's up, all I know is I'm loving the cheap prices considering the Ultimate Uncut marketing BS a lot of fans were treated to.

Deus, cool avatar. If that's part of a full version, PM a link my way? :P

Thanks for pointing that out. I picked up it today and had Bestbuy price match it! (for once they didn't throw a fit when I tried to pricematch!)

Has anyone been able to get it in the store? According to Circuit City's site, it's only available for shipping.

I got mine today at Best Buy. I paid the full $16.99 for it though. Oh well, I've really been looking forward to this one so I don't mind. Actually back in August someone had put up on ebay one of the advance copies of the DVD they had gotten at a convention. I bid up to $40 for it (looking back, I don't really know why). So I guess if I was willing to pay $40 for it, $16.99 is a deal.

I just picked my copy up two hours ago at Target. $14.99 (16.05 w/ tax). I was pretty surprised, since I paid twenty for movie 12. Going to watch it (for the first time in 3-4 years) in about twenty minutes. Pretty damn excited.

Yeah, I also got it at Best Buy and it was my first time seeing it. It's definitely one of the better DBZ movies. I'd rank it third after movies 12 and 3 (movie 10 is the worst IMO). I haven't watched the dub yet. But I was impressed by the sound quality for the Japanese track. It's not fuzzy sounding like movie 12.

Yeah, it's available in store. I went straight to CC after buying Voltron Vol. 1 at Best Buy, and sure enough, it was on the new releases rack (next to FMA the Movie) for $10.99!

So, I'm glad I got a legal product dirt cheap.

For 11 dollars at Circuit City thats good. I was gonna buy it at Best Buy also but now I'm going to Circuit City. Plus the gift card I have for that place will come in use.

When I first went out to buy the movie, I found that Best Buy hadn't stocked it yet. Then I remembered this thread and went down the street...

11 Dollars! Thank you theoriginalbliss!

(however, Circuit City doesn't accept the kind of Debit card I have, so I ended up having to leave, drive 4 miles to an ATM, then come back...minor inconvenience.)
