Regarding their reliability, I have bought stuff from them. The only part of the summary that makes me question it is the "or his family". Seems out of place.

Maybe Goku is reviving Buu.
Ore he wakes Birus up before the 3 years and something goes wrong.

IF this is true then i can see the story being in 2 parts fo 2 movies :

1st movie : Goku disappears without a trace leaving Vegeta to take care of whatever threattens earth
2nd movie : We see what happend to goku and how he gets back home

The only part of the summary that makes me question it is the "or his family". Seems out of place.

It makes sense cause Gohan was the main charecter in 2 movies (9-10)

On CDJapan's reliability... It's an online shop. I don't think they'd be the first to break any such news. Especially seeing how they generally seem to be pretty slow with updating specifics like cover-art and such for new releases... Also I'm just reminded of this one manga I read, where their listing of volume 3 got both the writer and the artist's name wrong... I mean granted this tidbit is kind of irrelevant to DBZ but when they can't even get that right, I wouldn't really trust them as a source for breaking news that have not been given anywhere else.

Yeah, the CDJapan e-mail is probably misconstruing what they see elsewhere about Toriyama's comment re: Vegeta from Saikyō Jump earlier this year, and I think it would be pretty irresponsible to run with that for anything.

(I didn't know they had an anime-specific newsletter. My curse from buying all these dumb cover albums over the years is that I get e-mail announcements for gravure crap.)

Guess I'll take your word for it. I still think it's likely that Vegeta takes center stage, though.

I doubt that it's anyone we know. All of the old dead villains are now weaklings against Goku, even Broli, Janenba, Hildegarn, and Majin Boo. The previous Super Saiyan God was a good guy, and apparently even weaker than God Goku, not to mention that he failed to make God's power his own. SS Bardock? He isn't a guy who would bring despair. It's most likely going to be a new character.

Hopefully most of the animation of the movie is better than what the teaser gave us. I know what we saw was brief, but the animation was not fluid in the least.

Yeah, it was definetely all a bit jerky looking, as though each shot could have done with a couple more tween frames added.

I actually thought it was being played in slow motion when I watched it. Sure it will be a lot more fluid for the actual film.

TBH, I prefer the more detailed direction Toyable took with the concept where the ritual wasnt solely on the cliche "pure hearts" nonsense but rather the Super Sayians unlocking a rare state of ki levels that produces a unique energy that would power up the dragonballs to do something greater than normal. I give AF more credit. I wish Toriyama himself would stop rehasing his old ideas or plot band-aids.

I'm starting to think the revival wish is for a new character, and it could even be a new character making the wish for second new character. Or maybe it's just me selfishly wanting another interesting pair like Whis and Beers.

As it was already mentioned, perhaps he knows someone strong from his time in the otherworld and wants to fight this person.
