Vegetto just made a new update:
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2014/07/24/dr ... ed-teaser/
There’s someone I want you to revive
Interesting.. now I wonder if it's a dead character we've seen in the show before, or a brand new one.
But for the love of God, I hope it's not a new character who turns out to be the most powerful warrior in the universe again. How many times have we've seen the "AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS" cliche on this show already?

Would be cool if it turned out to be Gine. Would be cool seeing everyone interact with her (Chichi meeting her mother-in-law, Gohan and Goten meeting their grandma). Think it could provide some comedic and touching scenes.

Well, I wouldn't think it's something too cliche, due to his former editor apparently being really impressed with the script.

I thought I'd made this post but it looks like I hadn't.
I'll make a guess that they revive the previous Super Saiyan God wanting to know more about the power and perhaps of their history and their race and it goes south when it turns out he's gone evil.
Super Saiyan God Goku vs The Original Super Saiyan God
At least it'd make sense with how someone could be a match for Goku at this point.

I don't think that would work remember they tried to bring the previous ssj god to earth with a wish and it didn't work so I don't think that's it. Still a pretty cool idea tho.

My bet: this wish will have nothing to do with Super Saiyan God, which may be referenced in dialogue as fusion between Goku and Vegeta was in Battle of Gods, but it wont be intrinsic to the plot.
And frankly, I sincerely hope so! I'd like the film to cover completely new ground, and if Toriyama's past work on Dragonball is anything to go by, whilst he tends to keep older villains and characters around long after they've served their use in the plot, he tends to not dwell overly on them to instead moves forward into new territory.

Yeah its kinda annoying if it would be like that.
Sure if its some powerful person but not stronger then Cell at the very most.

I don't think it's going to be a past character. None of the villains they could revive would be able to do any significant damage.
It's probably a new villain no one's ever heard of, and since it's on Earth I'm guessing it's an ancient evil of some sort.

DB world isn't very populated, there are a lot of barren places; maybe it was once a lot more populated with a lot more people and plant life and this person being revived was the one who destroyed all those places?
On hiatus.

I hope its not a Saiyan, I'm tired of the Saiyan-centerism. I want to see other races represented, some demon gods or something.
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

It'd be awesome if the wish was to revive a Unicron/Galactus-esque villain.
