Saint Seiya! Dang, I wasn't really thinking of buying this game, but with Seiya in it... Now only City Hunter and Houshin Engi and I'll be a happy fanboy.

Shishio looks fun too (biting people in the shoulders and such XD) Rukia is playable too: hopefully a couple of the support koma got upgraded to player koma.

Isn't there already a JUS thread? Anyway, Train has also be confirmed as a playable character (the quality fo the image is poor and down last time I checked). Another image popped up a few weeks back showing Gear 2 Luffy, 3 Tailed (I think) Naruto, post time skip Naruto characters, Franky will be a battle character, Gaara will be a support and characters from the series Muhyo and Roji's Magical Law Consulting Firm, Private Evil Eye Brain-Eater Neuro, and Senkaiden Houshin Engi (you may know this one as "Soul Hunter") have been added. Additionally in the image you mentioned it's also been shown that Freeza is (probably) playable and Tōshirō Hitsugaya will be a support.

Anyway, here's all the new contend I've seen confirmed for the game:
  • Number of characters will be 300 (160 in JSS). This this applies to help and support characters.
  • Number of series will be 40 (27 in JSS).
  • One Piece and Naruto characters will be updated from the latest arcs (Water 7, Post Time skip), including new costumes, new characters (Franky), new forms (Gear 2) and new moves. Also Zoro has been shown with a "Six Koma".
  • Some Komas have been changed. In one image 5Koma Goku is using Spirit Bomb and Luffy's 6Koma (Skypeia Luffy) and 7Koma (Afro Luffy) have been dropped down to 5Koma and 6Koma respectably.
  • Four new series have been include so far - Saint Seiya, Muhyo and Roji's Magical Law Consulting Firm, Private Evil Eye Brain-Eater Neuro, and Senkaiden Houshin Engi (you may know this one as "Soul Hunter")
  • Characters in your deck can be assigned to the L and R button. So far the theory is you'll be able to tag them in instantly as well as selecting them on the touch screen
  • A character in your deck can be assigned as a "leader". Nothing is known about what this means just yet
  • The layout for a characters health and special bar has been redesigned
  • The background for the portrait is colour coded. Power characters are red, Knowledge charcaters are green and Laughter characters are yellow
  • This game will support WiFi
  • the tops of the battle arena can now be ripped and characters can jump into the panel above
  • Characters can now grab onto ledges. NSS how.
  • Characters will get stars and/or a crown under them to show what rank they're currently at.
All in all, I'm really hyped about this game. For those who didn't check out the original game, check out it's Wikipedia entry for all the details.

[edit] I was correct. There is another JSS2/JUS thread. Perhaps if the merge option is available the two threads could be merged together.

I just scanned for Jump Ultimate Stars really fast, must have missed JSS2 ^_~;

But Houshin Engi is in the game? w000t! I love the manga and was really dissappointed it wasn't included in JSS, as they would've been great knowledge characters.
# A character in your deck can be assigned as a "leader". Nothing is known about what this means just yet
I think it means the battle starter. So instead the player character closest to top left corner of the page, you can choose the battle starter. (May be only one of the uses of the leader)

Sounds like a good theory. Alternatively they might some bonuses like in King of Fighters 2003 (where they got an extra special move).

[edit] The wikipeida article states all the characters confirmed for the game so far. However it classifies Hitsugaya Toushirou as a playable character. However if you look closely at the image with him in, the arrow isn't pointing at him. Still, he's one of my favourite characters so I'm happy he's in anyway.

Hey, you can play as Freeza. Neato! :D I spy Future Trunks under Goku as well!

EDIT: Wait a minute...if they have Freeza as a playable character, does that mean other series villians will appear as well?

I hope so. I'd love to see Crocodile, Hisoka (if you can call him a villain), Hao and possibly Aizen.

I fully agree on Hisoka! I want all 4 members from Team Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho in there as well!

Wow this game looks awesome, I might have to get a DS for this. Does anyone know what the purpose is for the manga in the bottom screen?

Switch between playable characters, summon support characters, and use help items and abilities from other characters.

MUTHAFUCKIN RENJI!

If this game is at least as good as the original, I'm sold. Especially if it has Wi-Fi. Superstars was great, but single player got old after a while, and download play was ass-tastic. The only way to get decent multiplayer is with 2 copies, but nobody else I knew had it...

I hope this isn't dominated by DB/Naruto/One Piece like the original JSS. :?

I'm still gonna get it anyways.

Those three are the three biggest Jump series, so of course they're going to get more focus than any other series. It would be like someone making a new Marvel game and focusing on the lesser known heroes instead of Spider-Man, Wolverine and Captain America. Remember that at this moment in time One Piece is THE number one Shonen manga. I've heard stories of stores having entire floors reserved for One Piece merchandise. DragonBall, as we all known, was very popular back in it's day and still maintains a high level now a days and Naruto is also pretty popular.

However I to would like to see more battle characters for some of my other favourite series like RurKen, Shaman King and Hunter x Hunter. Hopefully the fact Train, Renji and Rukia are playable should be a good sign for the other series (I am aware that Shishio Makoto is going to feature in the game as a support character, but nothing else has been shown in relation to extra battle characters for RurKen so for now he doesn't count).

Considering the original post was two weeks ago, it makes sense.

If anyone is interested, this thread on Arlong Park has all the news and screens so far. Most have been posted here, but it's worth checking it out as some are missing like Gear 2 vs Kyubin 3.
