Really, I'm flattered, but no collaring me. Especially when you work under me...

Kunais and throwing knives it is, then. Oh and Zegato is fine, but don't call me Amano Bluesummers. Or, Legato Ginji. Whatever.

*hugs his new weapons of death* Fine, no collaring. But I will find someone yet. As for the reject names.. They're cute. I'll consider whenever I'm mad at you. But that probably won't happen. ^^;

Hey, I just got a cool idea, instead of giving you vacations or anything when you do an exceptional jobs, I'll just wear a collar for a few days. Everybody wins, right? :)

Dayspring wrote:Yup to all. In Daizenshuu 7 there was a mini-manga that explained his thoughts on how he might end the manga (a geezer Goku w/Kamesenin mustache+stick). Later in it, he explains why filler had to be added at all (because 1 chapter = at most 10 mins but each episode = around 30). In those last panels he said he was V impressed and actually enjoyed them a lot.

Uh, could anyone obtain a scan of this 'mini-manga'? I'm very interesting in seeing an elderly Goku.

I remember Planetnamek had a translated scan of that 'mini-manga', but I'm not finding it.

As per request, I'm bringing this into here. :)

I probably jumped to conclusions, but I know that Toriyama was pressured into continuing the Z saga and, if this interview is correct, he really didn't like it that much (because it was the same thing over and over).. so that makes me wonder if he really liked GT at all. I've been told that he mentioned a little bit about wishing he had thought of it when GT was first starting out, but has anyone heard anything from him after that (about the middle/end of GT)?

http://www.shonenanime.com/sa.php?sa=ainterview.shtml It says it's from an article that appeared in Shounen Jump. Unfornantly, I don't have a way to really confirm it.. I probably should have, before using it as a source.

Yeah, I remember that. It was in one of the American Shounen Jumps. I have the issue.. I think it was April. His drawings of Bulma and Goku looked good, considering how long it's been.

Personally, i think GT is a mixed bag. It was flat out trying to be something the DB continuum isnt, another Tenchi. And dear God we dont need any more of those. Once it got back to its DBZ standards, it couldnt get past that "Tenchi vibe" it had to it. It was also trying to go back to the days of the original series. You cant have it both ways, it just doesnt work like that.

The "Tenchi vibe" is definately what killed the series. Fans were expecting something with the same transition as DBZ. Instead they got, well, something that most DB Otaku hate.

As for Toriyama hating it, didnt he say he'd be watching it along with the fans, or was that for DBZ? He probably likes it, but at the same time is glad he didnt create it.

I also have that issue and of course read over the interview, and I really don't think that's good enough evidence. I think Toriyama was mostly referring to how "burnt-out" he was feeling towards the end of drawing his manga, and that he had really nothing left to do with it. I'm pretty sure I heard he even cited that as the reason when he did end DBZ, that he had "exhaustion", which if you knew the kind of schedule a manga-ka has when they are drawing a popular series for a weekly strip, and he kept that pace up for almost 10 ten years, it's a wonder he didn't have that "rumoured" heartattack!

Err, what is this "Tenchi vibe"? I'm just picturing wacky situations involving tons of girls being hot for Gokuu...which would be pretty creepy, since he's chibi again.

DRAGON BALL GT IS THE SHIIIIZNIKE'! :P No really it's got a lot of style and a cool j-pop feel. It's fun to watch (in Japanese) and it looks great, and the music is freaking awsome. Nostalga, adventure, and good ole' Goku!!!! DON'T YOU SEE!?!!!

The only thing is that the other saiyajins dont get enough screen time because the series is 2 short.

I'm not sure how a TV show can have a "j-pop" feel.

Also, "shiiiznike"?

That's still more screen time than the non-Saiya-jin get. :?
