Right Stuff finally shipped my set. Hopefully I can look forward to getting it by the end of the week. Since this will be my first exposure to these movies and the first Discotek product I've ever purchased, I plan to write a modest review to share my thoughts about them.
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho

CardCaptor Sakura on Bluray, Dr.Slump and Oreimo 2 on DVD shipped, it will be lovely vacation :) I have little question for people who own Dr.Slump set already, how you rate audio quality? Is it muffled like in DB TV series? Or more like DBox the Movies?

Cardcaptor Sakura Blu-Ray? I'm so jealous. :o

Hmm, I don't know when I can afford this, I might just end up buying the Fatal Fury films instead, also by Discotek.

There was QC done. It's just, unfortunately, DT is such a small company that there's not a huge amount of QCers and so sometimes things fall through like this. I apologize for those typos, but, I hope since it's only minor typos that you can look past them.

I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying the release. I don't have my own copy yet unfortunately. There was not especially a lot of art for these movies, either, so I'm glad people are liking the design of the cover and everything. I hate how cheap the cases are myself, too, but that's to keep costs down I guess. Putting out older stuff like this which aren't huge sellers requires stuff like that sometimes to keep it profitable.
My favorite movie henchman is Sancho.

Yeah I must admit my first thought when seeing the packaging was, "This certainly is a bare-bones release, isn't it?" But that's fine, because all I really want is for this to be able to make profit so Discotek licenses more, and if that's achieved by cheaper packaging, so be it! Either way, the actual design on the box looks great, Ashura

I'm still awaiting my set (I really shouldn't order things I hope to get soon alongside things that are out of stock at the time. ^_^; Lesson learned there.), but I did notice that the set has been available for over a week now - do we have any idea so far exactly how well it seems to be selling?

Awesome, I got my copy in the mail today! Personally, I don't mind the economical case. At least it stores the discs adequately in separate slots, instead of stacking them on top of each other. I'm looking at you Mill Creek Entertainment, and your release of Godzilla: The Animated Series!

Four discs stacked on top of each other! Four discs!

Anyway, once I've finished watching all the movies, I'll make sure to post a full review.

My copy arrived this afternoon, but I had to leave for work before I could watch it...! Totally stoked though. Can't wait to start watching it.

That Godzilla packaging is nuts! Stacked discs? Wow :wtf:

Well, I've watched movies 1-4, and so far 2 and 4 are my favorites. 2 has really fun sci-fi setting and some really funny stuff with Mashirito, but I think 4 may have a better story overall? 4 feels kind of more like a DB/Z movie, it's funny but there's a lot of action, and it even has some very sweet moments!

Couple questions about translations, I'm not sure if these were decisions by Herms or not, but I'm curious if anybody can shed some light on these:

- In Movie 2, all the planets have crazy names. Are any of these jokes?
- In Movie 4, Senbie Norimaki's character is "Count Norimackey." Is there any reason for this spelling other than the movie's "American" setting? I don't hear a difference in the pronunciation, did I miss an English spelling somewhere, or is this indicated in a guidebook or something?

Wait, there's a Cardcaptor Sakura Blu-Ray?

I'd really love to get that.

I don't really follow Cardcaptor Sakura at all, but I thought it was the Animax dub. I can't find any information on it at all though, just speculation (even though the set is out now).

People who bought the Blu-Ray told me they had to redub it because it is uncut.

It's the Animax dub. The one that almost nobody in the west even knows about because it only aired in Asian countries. It was uncut from the get-go.

Oh? The only dub I was aware of was the Cardcaptors dub that aired on Kids WB.

On the second film of Dr. Mashirito, were those white (skeleton-ish looking) robots supposed to be a reference to the Stormtroopers?

Yeah, Toriyama frequently would draw Stormtroopers in the background of Dr. Slump. If I recall correctly, one of the policemen trying to stop the "Hoyoyo Gang" is a Stormtrooper.

Oh yeah, another thing that I had a question about was from Movie 3, the character/vehicle Borobo. If he was a one-off movie character, that's cool, but they were treating him like he was a regular cast member. I don't remember him from the comics, is he an anime-only character?
