Doesn't established canon have to be in the manga? In the three or so chapters King Cold appeared in I couldn't find any details about his role as king. The only place I read that was the Daizenshuu which this very site notes that "although Akira Toriyama is listed as the author of this databook, he actually had very little involvement with the production of its content, if any at all".DNA wrote:As if Salagir ever cared for any established canon.Kaboom wrote:So much for the whole "King Cold's existence is a secret known only to his family and closest subordinates" thing.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
They can't do anything to him, yeah... but with the "maybe planet-destroying, though there's arguments on what kind of 'destroyed' you'd be talking about" level power both of them have, they could easily damage the ship and strand him somewhere. It'd probably be a death sentence for them too, but he doesn't know these guys (even less so than the main cast knew Vegeta during the Freeza saga!) and has no reason to trust them not to do something violently insane like that, especially considering they've been working for Freeza...Jeez, Gast, you are so much more powerful, is it necessary to restrain them?

Gast obviously learned about King Cold from reading Freeza's and/or Coola's mind, then told the Icarians about him.

I really enjoy this art style. Everything looks moody and bad ass. The artist can really convey brooding emotions.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I don't think Cold needs "spies." The scouters would have told him everything he needs to know. Just like how Freeza was able to spy on Vegeta when he was hashing out his plans with Nappa. Maybe a bit too much Star Wars stuff here.
But yeah...amazing fucking art. It's amazing that we are getting this sort of pro-level stuff for free. Maybe they have special ways of paying for bandwidth...I don't know.

Everytime I see that picture of Cold I think of Bison from that old Stret Fighter cartoon going "YES, YES, YES".
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Too bad the amazing artwork can't help me from falling asleep. This special has been very boring to me.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Why do I get the feeling that Cold has transformed into his true form in the time it took Gast to get there? It'd make sense with that dialogue, and given how quickly Gast took down Cooler, it's pretty much the only way Cold would ever get the chance to transform at all.

What do you mean "you got the feeling", it's a really obvious setting, down to the shadowy figure of Cold and the fact that you only see him waist down.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Why do I get the feeling that Cold has transformed into his true form in the time it took Gast to get there?

It's more obvious than that. You can see his leg has the transformed armor design on his shin.DNA wrote:What do you mean "you got the feeling", it's a really obvious setting, down to the shadowy figure of Cold and the fact that you only see him waist down.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Why do I get the feeling that Cold has transformed into his true form in the time it took Gast to get there?

Well yeah, it seems pretty obvious, but I didn't want to just 'assume' either, only to turn out to be wrong.

I'd be very surprised if it turns out to be something else. This comic is not known for it's surprising twists, it's normally very straightforward and predictable.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Well yeah, it seems pretty obvious, but I didn't want to just 'assume' either, only to turn out to be wrong.

He's just letting Vegeta and Cui go? Well, that's not very smart.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
So will this be a fifth form Cold? IIRC his leg doesn't look like that in the other art styles 3rd or 4th form.
The kid said he could pilot the ship.Marco Polo wrote:How does Gast no longer need pilots for the spaceship?
