Is it possible that I'm reading correctly that the moving truck on page 208 of the third full color volume says Kiki's Delivery Service?
On hiatus.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Hi Everyone,
I picked up all 3 Volumes of Viz's Dragon Ball Full Color "Saiyan Arc". I love the quality, and the translations, however, upon finishing them, I contacted Viz asking them about a Release Date for the Namek Arc, and they confirmed they won't be continuing the Full Color Series.

This is a disappointment for me, and I really want to buy the "Z" part of the manga, what would you guys recommend? I'm thinking Vizbig? as the current "3-in-1" haven't exactly been getting great reviews.
Would appreciate any kind of advice.
Thank You!

People need to be patient and wait for Viz to officially announce either the continuation or cancellation of Dragon Ball: Full Colour mangas because there's no point asking them as they won't tell you anything that hasn't been said before.
I hope that they don't take too long (maybe 2-3 months) to announce whichever way they're going with it.

FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

When I asked, it was about 5 weeks ago, only just noticed that many others have asked since. I do agree that we should all be patient, but the fact that people are asking Viz is a good thing, as it shows the product is in demand.
All we can do now is wait and see, as others have said, the fact Amazon are struggling to cope with availability, should mean the sales are good.

Really hoping these are continued, would love if they make it through the Freeza Saga as well. Some late Dragonball stuff would be terrific as well, but from my understanding the releases in Japan are of only the "Z" portion, so that's unlikely.
I'm probably going to pick up the first three soon before they become hard to find.

The physical releases are only of the Saiyan arc and up, but the earlier stuff has been released digitally.Analytical Delusion wrote:Really hoping these are continued, would love if they make it through the Freeza Saga as well. I think I heard that as well. Where can I view/purchase them? Would love to see how some arcs were handled.Adamant wrote:The physical releases are only of the Saiyan arc and up, but the earlier stuff has been released digitally.Analytical Delusion wrote:Really hoping these are continued, would love if they make it through the Freeza Saga as well. They're available on certain Japanese digital manga services. I have a Japanese 3DS and buy them there.Analytical Delusion wrote:I think I heard that as well. Where can I view/purchase them? I'm curious how they got to color the parts of the manga that are blackened in. Did they trace the image and leave out the black? Anyway, I'm sure they'll release more. Unless these barely sold. Then I'd understand it not being worth their trouble.

Not exactly. They usually say something more ambiguous like "when we'll have more volumes to announce, we will inform you", or "at this moment there are no announcements to make", etc...sintzu wrote:What evry company says before whatever is officially announced
In that tweet they are saying that it's only going the three volumes. Nothing more. Since it's from the UK branch and not the main one, I'll wait for something more concrete.
Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
I just bought it but then immediately regretted doing so and I submitted a cancellation. Now I see what Viz said and it's reassured me that I've made the right decision.

Boy did I return to this topic late. I just bought the first 3. I hope that's just them trying to dodge the question and maybe something might happen in the future.
Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
I feel the same way. I have no interest in incomplete collections.

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
I just want to pose these questions for speculation then:
Why did they only release the first three volumes if they weren't at least initially planning to release later volumes?
Was this US release some kind of test to see if people would buy a full color manga?
Or was it some kind of licensing stipulation that said they can only release the Saiyan arc?

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!
Yeah, this is all pretty strange. They don't do test runs of any kind with any of their other manga. Then again, none of their other manga are divided up by arcs (which is ironically one of the things I like about the Full Color Comics).
I can understand the business side of things, you have to first try and see if the new release is profitable, but it's really frustrating as a fan to see this gorgeous new edition at a standstill after only three volumes.
I can't imagine they've done badly, as soon as they were up for sale on Amazon.co.uk, all of their available units had already been sold out with all the pre-orders. It took me a month to get my own copy (I don't pre-order). So maybe we're all just being really impatient, it hasn't been that long since the last volume. If the releases had continued at the same pace, we would barely have the first Freeza volume by now. Maybe we just need to hang in there a little longer and hopefully they'll do the math and decide to release more. I was told by Viz they'll definitely have some announcements to make at NYCC, maybe we'll hear something then.
I just hope this isn't some kind of bizarre licensing stipulation, as theoriginalbilis said, and they're just unable to release more. Now that would be stupid.
