There's like at least 6 people who have worked on the various scripts for DB-DBZ-DBGT dubs, right?
Yeah, there were. The names of which that I remember are: Ward Perry, John Burgmeier, Neel Bligh, Chris Forbis, Sean Teague, and Chris Sabat.
And of all them, Ward Perry is probably the only one who's worthy of receiving praise. As you should know, Pioneer Entertainment hired him to write the ADR scripts for the first three DBZ movies. And
unlike the rest of the ADR script writers who worked on the DBZ dub, Perry stayed accurate and faithful to the original Japanese screenplays as much as humanly possible. And the result was the fantastic English dubs for the Tree of Might, Dead Zone, and The World's Strongest movies.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the other writers. They all helped to turn the dub into a goddamn reinterpretation and a self-parody of the original version of the show, particularly the one named Neel Bligh (aka Christopher Neel). He wrote the scripts for pretty much all of the 291 dub episodes, and he also wrote the scripts for both of the DBZ TV specials, and most of the movies, from # 4 and up. For pretty much every punched-up dialogue line, a corny "Americanized" joke, or a downright script inaccuracy within the dub, we all have Neel Bligh to thank for. Anything DBZ-related he touches, it turns to shit. Any fan of the sub, who've had the displeasure to watch the dubbed versions of the Bardock TV special, Lord Slug, and The Super Android 13 (movie #7), can testify to that.
