My two Dragon Boxes (GT and Movies), along with the Scouters and Dragon Radar they came with. The envelope came from the GT Dragon Box, includes Zeni. The red box is the Ultimate Uncut Edition Vegeta Saga I starter box, which came with the first UUE DVD as well as the Goku action figure seen on top of the GT Dragon Box. If you look on the Radar box, you'll see a Capasule "case" which holds a Hoi Poi Capsule that's actually a pen when you click it. The Kamehame-Ha Goku, Super Saiyan Goku, Kid Goku on Kinto'un, Bulma riding on a jet bike, Piccolo and Super Saiyan Vegeta are all from a Gashapon set I got off of eBay.

I would like REAL scouters!

No seriously, where does the people get the funds for supporting their fandom? I really would like to know, since I never have money over to spend on building up magnificent collections like these. Besides, there aren't great possibilities other than the Internet over here if you want to buy stuff that are Dragonball-related. There just isn't a fanbase that's big enough to support the production and import of the merchandise.

I know! Those collections look like they cost several hundred dollars to build. I don't have that kind of money to spare yet, and I'm currently living in an area where I'm hard-pressed to get to a Wal-Mart, much less a comic or movie store. This place doesn't even have a mall... D:

I think all these people run their own websites and charge other people to join them. Either that, or most of the artists do lots of commissions. I can't think of any other way for an anime nut to make money, besides living off of his parents' generosity. >__>;

Well, most of the stuff that we (in general) collect is gathered over time. It's not like we just get a sudden urge to shop one day and go all out. And considering that most of us got into DB when or before the show was at the peak of its popularity, we were lucky enough to run into DB merchandise practically every-frickin'-where we went. Nowadays, you've gotta do some searching to get some of the more interesting stuff outside of manga and DVDs :(... Or at least that's the reason that mostly explains my collection.

And yeah, my parents are also pretty generous, so that helps, too :D.

Some side stuff:

Well, yeah, I would figure that nobody just got all this stuff at once... it's just that the cost of it all, even taken a little at a time, is something I (and whoever else, I suppose ^^; ) can't manage, at least not without some help. But, yeah, location helps in building these collections, too. I imagine that if either one of us were in Japan, we'd have several times the stuff some of the people posting here already have.

Oh! I'm sorry. I kinda skipped ahead to the general discussion forum right after signing up, so I guess I missed seeing the rules on those.

I'll try to avoid the stupid all-caps stuff from now on. And I'll go fix my sig right away! ... The first line on there is kinda irrelevant, anyway.

Well I personally build up my collection via babysitting money, which depending on how many jobs I get, is usually $20 a week. (australian)

Upon attending Kumoricon a couple of weeks back, I managed to grab some Dragon Ball swag.

Image

Total cost was $15. :) They had figures of Zarbon and young Prince Vegeta, though I really didn't bother to grab them. The guy selling these also had a large Vegeta figure, similar to the Super Saiyan Goku. Though the price for it alone was $15. >_>;

Today was a jolly day for my dragonball collection!
I managed to get (at an anime convention) the following:

- Dragonball Z posing figure (saiyajin saga) gashapon - the entire set (Goku,Raditz,Vegeta,Piccolo,Gohan,Krilin).

- Goku with wings and halo - Cell games saga gashapon.

- Goku super saiyajin and normal state shooting a Kamehameha - Freeza saga gashapon.

Then, in the past week, I was offered:

- Two Dragonball mugs - one with Vegeta, the other with Gotenks.

- A special holographic SonGohan card (by Amada) - it's a set of four cards, that altogether form a neat picture! (I'm missing one)

And I also bought some small toys in a second hand fair, and yes they ARE all original!

I will post the photos as soon as I can.

So Mike, you finally got Daizenshuu #7. AWA right? How much did you get it for? (Break it down in the Podcast? :) )

As for my collection, it is VERY small, and I plan to have tons more by the end of this year.

Manga:

Viz: 18,19,21-26

Daizenshuu: 1 (I'll seriously have all of them by the end of the year :D )

DVDs:

Fusion Reborn
UUE: Saiyan Invasion
Dragonball Z R2 DVD #17

VHS: (I currently don't know where they are, probably my grandmothers)
The Whole Freeza saga
1 Garlic Jr.
2 Imperfect Cell
1 Majin Buu
1 Fusion
DBGT Ramifications

On Order:

Sparking! NEO (BOO YAH!)
Son Goku Densetsu

Holy crap! Every Daizenshuu? Good goin' there, boss.

Didn't you mention in an earlier Podcast that you thought that your little sister threw out your Super Butoden 3 cartridge? :?

Did you lose the LSW box, or did the eBay seller? :P

And why do you have so many PSX game re-releases/re-formats? I thought you hated Final Bout, here I see you've bought it twice. Same with Ultimate Battle 22. ^^;

Also, where are your CDs, and judging by the chibi Broli figure on the bookshelf, I assume you've got the special edition (or whatever the Hell it is) of Budokai 3, but it seems to be absent.

:?:

Is that a Capsule on the bookshelf?! Make sure your iPod doesn't get jealous. (in-joke)

And what are those two things on top of the Kanzenban?

@fps_anth: Densetsu. :)
New to the forum? Just want to know when you'll hit your next posting rank? Ever wondered why some users have special titles, and what they mean? The answers to all these questions and more are waiting for you in the Kanzenshuu Member Hierarchy Guide!!

Yeah, I think so... don't know for sure...
The Tori-bot wrote:Did you lose the LSW box, or did the eBay seller? :P
Nah, I bought that used at EB Games on a whim one day for $5 or something a long long while back. Only the cartridge. Wish I didn't, and eBay-ed for the box & all :P.
The Tori-bot wrote:And why do you have so many PSX game re-releases/re-formats? I thought you hated Final Bout, here I see you've bought it twice. Same with Ultimate Battle 22. ^^;
Completist. Plus they're super cheap.

Yeah, I thought about throwing that big box in the picture, but it just looked too out of place.

That's an absolutely amazing reference.
The Tori-bot wrote:And what are those two things on top of the Kanzenban?
First two volumes of the Rurouni Kenshin re-release. I haven't figured out what to do with them.

My collection may not be as impressive as the other ones, but I'm still damn proud of it! After all, it's safe to say it's a $500+ and 8 year investment!

Image
Various VHS in all it's official dubbed glory! The Trunks set is in a box. I got these before I started "collecting" and I primarily bought them so I could see it before it came on TV. There are 9 edited tapes and 10 uncut tapes.

Image
Misc. crap. That's a Super Battle Collection Vegetto and PS2 Budokai 1. Also, there's a vintage SNES Chrono Trigger still in the box! Not Dragon Ball, but Toriyama related at least.

Image
A few DVD's. Ultimate uncut Vols 1-2, and DBZ movies 3, 6, and 8-13, plus GT Annihilation and GT Generations (the final episodes). I really like GT and want to add more to it. Movies 8, 10, and 11 are from the Brolli: Triple Threat set. I laid them out because it looks more impressive. 8)

Image
My crowning Dragon Ball achievement: ALL 42 volumes of Viz's tankobon!

There are a few items unaccounted for: A VHS or two, the Pojo guide with Freeza on it, a few Beckett mags, a bunch of cards from the Score CCG Trunks saga starter set, and some crappy toys.

GI_Judd2287, I would KILL to have Chrono Trigger for the SNES with the box and all. :(

And now that I've gotten all my crap in order and I'm fully readjusted now that I'm home, here's all of my Dragon Ball crap.

Image
Here we have all of my figures and gashapon. You'll also see the Scouters that came with my Movies Dragon Box as well as the money envelope that came with the GT Dragon Box. What's holding it up is the box for the first Ultimate Uncut Edition set. There's also the Dragon Radar remote control that came with the GT Dragon Box, as well as the Capsule pen that came with Sparking! for those who reserved it (mine came with it as a bonus for buying it from someone on eBay).

Image
Here are my US DVDs, spanning from Pioneer's movie releases to FUNi's releases.

From left to right, top to bottom:
  • Commander Red Saga
  • King Piccolo Saga (Part 1)
  • Piccolo Jr. Saga (Part 1)
  • Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle
  • Mystical Adventure
  • The Path to Power
  • Saiyan Showdown
  • Goku Held Hostage
  • Frieza - The Summoning
  • Frieza - Transformation
  • Frieza - Revealed
  • Frieza - Fall of a Tyrant
  • Trunks - Mysterious Youth
  • Trunks - Prelude to Terror
  • Androids - Invasion
  • Androids - Dr. Gero
  • Cell Games - Earth's Last Hope
  • Great Saiyaman - Opening Ceremony
  • Great Saiyaman - Final Round
  • World Tournament - The Draw
  • Fusion - Hope Returns
  • Bardock: The Father of Goku
  • The History of Trunks
  • Dead Zone (Pioneer Release)
  • The World's Strongest (Pioneer Release)
  • Tree of Might (Pioneer Release)
  • The Return of Cooler
  • Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan
  • Broly: Second Coming
  • Fusion Reborn
  • Wrath of the Dragon
Image
And here we have the Japanese Dragon Box single DBZ DVDs.

Image
Speaking of Dragon Boxes, here are Movies and GT. Spread out are the Dragon Books and the "folders" that hold the discs.

Image
Next we have manga. Spanning from Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z in Viz's graphic novel format to the Dragon Ball Kanzenban editions as well as the Dragon Ball/Z Daizenshuu.

Image
My game collection's rather weak as it's primarily recent games. >_> And before anyone asks, that's a custom cover for Supersonic Warriors. I didn't get mine new at GameStop, so I used a spare DS box to hold the game and used a custom cover for it. Also in the picture is my music CD.

From left to right, top to left:
  • Dragon Ball Z (Budokai 1/JP)
  • Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2
  • Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3
  • Dragon Ball Z Sparking!
  • Battle Stadium D.O.N (GameCube)
  • Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors
  • Dragon Ball Z Bukuu Ressen
  • Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure
  • Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury
  • Dragon Ball Z 18 ½ Special Super Remix
Not Pictured:
  • Dragon Ball Z TCG (GBA)
  • Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Neo (Pre-ordered; PS2)
  • Jump Superstars (Currently being shipped)
Image
And finally, my VHS tapes that I have left. The middle one is the Mexican-Spanish dub of the first Broli movie.

Ok, so a friend of mine offered me today, three cool Dragonball mugs.
Since I now have a mobile phone that takes snapshots, I wasted no time!

It came with the first Ultimate Uncut Edition starter box. It's actually not very good looking considering it's from the same guys who've been tarding up the looks of the characters with their action figures recentl, Jakk's Pacific. >_>; The face is what pretty much looks wonky as hell.
