Not particularly, I was watching his "Cancel-Tricks" video and deduced that Budokai has more depth than most people assume. It takes a lot of specific timing and frame watching to make cancel juggles and transitions successful as he explains. Like the Dragonfist cancel launcher and ki-blast + dash in stun + cancel chain. Most peopledon't go that far into it and dont utilize that. The people who think its system is basic, (as I used to) only see people just to the (Kkk+G > KKK+G) usual or abuse ground bounces that as said are unrealistic. With that example, the system could actually be well diversified if they considered trying to give more connection between blasts, ki and stuns, rather than having them as seperated as they are in BT/RB. Melee shouldnt be its own tool, and supers shouldnt just be long range guns. Even without having contrived analog-stick motions SF is praised for, though maybe Budokai could use some directional commands at the extent Soul Calibur has. (>K, ^K <K) etc. It has a bit but not enough.

If Budokai also had more defense options and if projectiles did a bit more did a variety of unique things besides damage it would at least be potentially MK tier. If projectiles were used as launchers maybe it could add something new, like say your beam size changes based on charge time, if you could use beams to cancel or connect juggle cancels, that would unify them with the melee perfectly.

For Xenoverse, they should all be able to work together to add a new layer of depth and creativity people critique it for. I dont like the idea of ki blasts being free-range just to spray around in the 3D games, they should be used for long range stuns, and if possible used as launchers to connect combos. In BT you could kind of do this, where some charged ki blasts could kind of do this if you out run them and hit the opponent before it reaches them they would stun the enemy for you, but they were way too slow to actually use them for that purpose.

Ah I see. Aside from TC, and the non-attack TC, what else could be added as far as defense? I also agree the Ki attacks are pretty straightforward, aside from some that could be used in juggles (Dragon Fist, Final Impact, Soaring Dragon etc.) Also I think if the pursuit attacks weren't only a knock away, like if you could teleport and start up a combo would be awesome too. And it wouldn't be terrible because the opponent gains Ki when getting a pursuit hit.

You can in Burst limit. You can teleport into combos in Aura burst mode. Free teleportation is something I miss, it was only in BT3 in max-power mode, but if you could optionally vanish from across the stage toward your opponent to catch them in strings instead of just having them only for evasion and somehow incorporate its movement system into combos.

Guys, is this release date legit? I hope so.

That just looks like kdramastars wrapped in another shell.

No. There is no release date for the game announced yet.

Not to go off topic, but this is the second time I've seen this kdramastars thing mentioned recently. What the heck is it?

I was curious as well the last time it was mentioned and checked it out. From what I can tell it seems to be the Korean (and Japanese and Chinese too by the looks of it) equivalent of National Enquirer or any of those other poor taste tabloids.

Kdramastars has been known to report false info without backing anything up. They also reported a DC/Shonen Jump X game earlier this year and nothing show up since then. A game like that would be only release in Japan and DC is not very big over there. Kdramstars also reported Michael Bay wanted to direct a Evangelion movie  . It's pretty obvious now that everything on that site is just click bait.

I'm pretty sure K-Drama Stars just makes stuff up. I remember reading some nonsense from them and trying to investigate. They cited a retail source that as far I could tell didn't exist.

They seem to mix real stuff (like, the beta news stuff) with made-up news (the release date) to try to pass it off as real.

Xenoverse will be playable and have a trailer at TGS 2014: http://gematsu.com/2014/08/bandai-namco ... 014-lineup

They'll also live stream from the show. Hopefully they show some footage of the game.

I figured as much, hopefully its a lengthy trailer perhaps around 4 or 5 minutes.

On another note, while writing my response to another topic, I got to thinking. What if releasing Budokai HD was just a test to see if people were still interested in a game from Dimps despite not receiving one in the last couple of years? Perhaps Battle of Z was just a place holder game to try a ride the hype of Battle of Gods while Namco got the paper work n such ready for Dimps to start developing Xenoverse.

If Bandai Namco was testing out if people wanted DB games by Dimps then it wasn't a good idea because a lot skipped it I too did (it doesn't include the Yamamoto score nor online play). I don't plan on buying the HD version, if ever. My PS3 60GB plays PS2 games and they look quite good upscaled.

"Tenkaichi HD Collection" would've probably sold like crap too seeing that RB/UB weren't hotcakes and people have already forgotten about Tenkaichi except on the internet.

You're putting too much thought into it.

It was a simple business decision to play along with the big boys putting out HD remasters and cash in on the nostalgia crowd that played those games and bought them in HUGE NUMBERS almost a decade prior. Easy money.

Mmm, I kinda felt like I was I suppose your right though, keeping things simple anyway.

I think it' d be pretty neat if the higher ups planned ahead like that though.

I'm hoping we can get some gameplay of other stages and Gotenks vs Buu.

I'll assume they have the standard stages and whatnot like generic wasteland, desert canyon, city etc... I just hope they show any improvements on the gameplay, and that camera.
