Question About Bojack & Co.

Post by GI_Judd2287 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:15 am

What are their names supposed to be puns for? The only thing I could come up with is "Zangya means cruelty in Japanese". I'm not sure if they're even meant to be puns. Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, one of the podcasts discusses their name puns, along with the rest of the villains from the movies. Just search for it on the podcast page. It should be there.

DBZ MOVIE #9: Vices, money, other stuff
  • boujakku (Bojack) = arrogance/audacity/outrageous behavior (boujakubujin)
  • buujin (Bujin) = arrogance/audacity/outrageous behavior (boujakubujin)
  • gokua (Gokua) = heinous/extreme evil (gokuaku); gokuakubidou = heinous and inhuman
  • bidoo (Bido) = inhuman (bidou); gokuakubidou = heinous and inhuman
  • zangya (Zangya) = cruelty/brutality (zangyaku)
And then there's the money family, but I don't feel like formatting anything else :).

Way back in Podcast Episode #0007, we went through every single DBZ movie villains name pun.
