Decent episode. Not my favorite, but better than most of the other post-Freeza episodes. Favorite bits:

"It feels like everyone we know is fighting Mr. Piccolo...!"
"Except Yamcha."

Cell vomiting a pacifier.

"This must be your first time, because you are TIGHT!"

"Is that me stronger than me!?"

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

So, I have a question. Why do you guys now delay the Youtube release? It kinda sucks because the TFS site has always had issues buffering.

I assume they get ad revenue off their website or something, which they need to cover costs of running the website.

It is annoying though, since the player doesn't like me though. Today was a good day and I still had to pause it every minute (well, give or take a few seconds).

Also, if Youtube's copyright detection system is still a pain in the ass, then it might take time for their Youtube upload to become "approved."

Sorry guys, but as we're currently trying to start pushing forward into new territory, we need a bit of capital. In fact, the ad revenue on the site does help fund new ventures, such as a couple of independent IPs we're currently pursuing. Sorry about this.

Start a donation pool if you havent already? I have no doubt youd make more than what you need from fan support.

Also, the pacifier scene was some of the greatest morbid hilarity I've seen. Right up there with Dead Alive.

That's perfectly understandable, and I didn't mean to say I had a problem with that at all. I'm glad that you're not choosing to keep them off youtube entirely.

edit: Also, I have a question. Is Kuririn's "stealth mode" a joke about his low battle power, and a call back to the Namek arc with Gohan? That's how I saw it, but a few people I've spoken to thought it had nothing to do with that and now I'm really not sure myself.

My college roommate and myself manage to get time to watch this. Wasn't the best but wasn't the worst. Got bored and felt dragged out. Sadly it also had obvious lines but it manage to get a few chuckles from Demarcus and myself.

The video got really slow and grainy about halfway through for some reason. Then the image froze on the scene of Trunks and Krillin flying. So I reloaded it but then it happened again right as Cell was finishing telling Piccolo his origin. Anyway I eventually got it to work - great episode. The part with 16 was funny, also I hope Cell's personality completely changes with each of his transformations, that would be amusing.

Krillin's starting to remind me a lot of Henchman #21 from Venture Bros.

I'm very okay with this.

So before anything else, two contradictory things on the time. It was one of those episodes where it felt like three or four minutes passed in the actual nine (source material, cannot be helped), yet you coherently compressed Cell's explanation of who he is to about 45 seconds, if that. That's beautiful. It really is.

Nor were you kidding when you said "Use Taka Alucard as a barometer", I'm stunned at how not lying you were. The man would probably make Takacard (Is that okay?) himself lose his patience- if he would not be more giddy at thought of blowing stuff up with a Dragon Ball character whose as much of course smart-aleck as he is.

"Stealth-mode" won it for me, though. That's straight Sonny Krillin, let alone Lani.

Heya guys! I'm glad the new episode has arrived at last! But...may I please ask a favor? I know you refrain from the F-Bomb as a swear word, so I'm wondering...could you also not use "God" as a swear word? I'm Christian, using that name as a swear makes me uncomfortable...so would you mind not doing that anymore if it's not terribly inconvenient? Cuz if you could, that would be really cool!

But, in any case, good job once again! Me and my friend have ALWAYS found these so hilarious, so thanks so much for doing what you guys do!

Not to sound rude, but a single person's complaint among the thousands upon thousands of fans and other complaints is really irrelevant. Also, is god really a swear word? I mean the only instance I can think of where it is are in sayings like god damnit or god damn you, stuff of that nature. I fail to see how saying "oh my god, good god, my god, etc" can be seen as offensive. Maybe its me, but I really see nothing offensive with their use of the word (likely because I'm atheist). I wouldn't let it bother me if I were you. I mean at the end of the day its just a word you know?

Not to go too much in that direction since it could be a messy conversation, but I'd pretty much have to agree with Kental for the most part. The difference between the words is that while 'God' can be seen as offensive to a particular religious group, 'fuck' can be seen as offensive to...well, pretty much anyone ever. Granted, neither one offends me in any particular fashion, so...*Shrugs*

Anyway, great episode as usual, I think I'm reeaaallllyyy gonna like your version of Cell. Still expecting/hoping for him to go on some rant about his perfection once he finally reaches that form, but I think I'm almost anticipating his second form even more. His reaction to his face in that form is going to be amazing, I can just feel it.

:wtf: Yeah... please don't do this. The less censorship the better.

If they start trying to appease every fan who gets mildly offended by swear words the show will devolve into a watered down shell of it's former self and everyone will nod and agree that it's "not as good as it used to be" (I wonder why..). If you want tame entertainment mainstream television has plenty of that for you.

Fellow Christian here... our parents generation has a right to rail on it, but for us, its kind of a losing battle, I don't really know what to tell you. Christian swears have existed as long as "Christian" civilization; "God's Blood" goes so far back in English literature that fantasy series like Elder Scrolls adopt it as swears for authenticity (probably intentionally, its a nice callback).

To the end of F-bombs, the only thing to watch out for if you get lazy and start dropping them for every single exclamation a character makes. It breaks the immersion of entertainment being better scripted than real life, particular to people who actually do avoid swearing in real life. Say, Piccolo's recoiling to the Cooler bots in Cooler 2 Bagaloo; that still sticks out to be me because "fuck" doesn't even fit the lip flaps. I don't think TFS has gotten there yet, for most of the series their comedic timing with swears have been great; but just like actual swearing, they're much more effective when actually treated like charged words. Which TFS knows how to do.
NitroEX wrote: :wtf: Yeah... please don't do this. The less censorship the better.
Not censorship, scripting choice. Swears can go on the cutting room floor as easy as anything else. This is not a "prude versus real talk" conversation and you all know it.

Mmm...yeah, I didn't think I would get much support, mainly because I know that, at least as far as TFS fans go, I'm probably in the minority when it comes to that. But still, no harm in asking, right?

Well if it makes you feel any better, the Bible says not to "take the Lord's name in vain", and "God" isn't actually his name, it's just a title.

I don't know if I'm mixing an old myth with the Bible, but is that the part in which they say the the Lord's name is really long and that no one really knows it, or something like that?
