Yeah and amusingly Season 5 was the most expensive season on Amazon yet it had the missing title card and the horrible out of focus shots, in the end I had to skip them.JEFFMAN219 wrote: Wow man. Don't the people at funimation take a look at there shit before releasing it like come on now this is ridiculous. How do you miss putting on a title card?

I hope that funimation realizes their mistake and re release seasons 5 and 6 with those issues fixed.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Yeah and amusingly Season 5 was the most expensive season on Amazon yet it had the missing title card and the horrible out of focus shots, in the end I had to skip them.JEFFMAN219 wrote: Wow man. I wouldn't get your hopes up for that. There were plenty of out of focus shots on the OB's and like I said before, there has always been at least one messed up title card in every Z release. If the Levels had been completed, they probably would of had one too.JEFFMAN219 wrote:I hope that funimation realizes their mistake and re release seasons 5 and 6 with those issues fixed.

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
I suspect one blank title card and a few instances of missing dub lines aren't enough to warrant the cost of a replacement program (especially since people are saying these were problems on the DVD season sets as well, apparently?). There would have to be a far bigger issue for FUNi to issue replacement discs (missing episodes, wrong subtitles, etc.).
The "out of focus shots" are just the way the episodes were "restored" for this release. It's not really an "error" like the blank title card. It was their goal to make the episodes look like that. They're the same restoration techniques you've been supporting for five blu-rays sets now. Blurring everything until it's "clean." That's why so many people hate this release.

I just finished season 6 and didn't come across any problems like them out of focus shots but I did use marathon mode so not sure if there are any missing title cards.JEFFMAN219 wrote:I hope that funimation realizes their mistake and re release seasons 5 and 6 with those issues fixed.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Yeah and amusingly Season 5 was the most expensive season on Amazon yet it had the missing title card and the horrible out of focus shots, in the end I had to skip them.JEFFMAN219 wrote: Wow man. The Level Blu-rays were being professionally remastered whereas this one is a rushed job as almost each month there's a new "season" released.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:I wouldn't get your hopes up for that. I hope that 2015's the year of Level BDs revival and we have Level 2.1 and 2.2 covers already so some of it is done.

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Nah, going back to "volume" sets would be disastrous for sales. They already gave us boxsets with the season sets. Any future releases would have to be boxsets in order to compete. The "Level" sets are dead. Our best bet would be for FUNimation to use the exact same transfers from the "Levels" and just release them in a new wave of sets.

But with the quality of Level-remaster they would at least need to charge $60 or more and if anyone were to complain, keep in mind how much people have to pay for similar home releases in Japan.
The new upcoming Kai releases cost each 11k-22k yen. Just seeing the converted price to Pounds/Dollars makes me

Heres season 8s trailers guys.

And from these two trailers the picture quality looks better then Kai.

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
I honestly don't think we'll see any more Level sets any time in the near future, if ever. With the Season Blu-rays coming out, a Level type release just won't fly anymore. Sure, we'd support it. But we wouldn't be that large of a profit (if they would even profit) relative to the sales these Season Blu-rays are probably taking in. I always see the argument of "It's nothing compared to what Japan has to pay", but you have to realize that most people don't think like that or even care. Most people are of the mindset of "who cares what Japan pays, this isn't Japan." FUNi has been releasing DB releases for budget prices for about 7 years now; at this point, it's what people expect. If anyone but us were to walk into a store and see a 17 episode Level set for $35-40 or a 30+ episode Season set for $20, they're not going to give the Level set a second glance. Even if they were to sell Level box sets with Season set episode counts, the price would still drive the majority of people away. I hate to say it, but I honestly believe that the Level set's time has flown. FUNi had their opportunity, they messed it up, and now it's passed.dbboxkaifan wrote:But with the quality of Level-remaster they would at least need to charge $60 or more and if anyone were to complain, keep in mind how much people have to pay for similar home releases in Japan.

Wow, they're really getting these BDs out as fast as they can, aren't they? Weren't the Orange Bricks released over a period of two years?

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
My theory on this has been that with the myriad of different ways to own the series nowadays, releasing a set every 3+ months just wouldn't be practical. A lot of people aren't going to wait months for blocks of episodes when they can go out and buy the entire series right now.Weejus wrote:Wow, they're really getting these BDs out as fast as they can, aren't they? All we know for sure now is that we are not getting 16:9 again. For sure we are getting 4:3 but I am not so sure if they are going to use the level. They probably will use a new one or make the Dragon Ball Z Dragon Box HD.

From a business perspective, there would be no point in continuing the Level sets because the majority of people who already bought the Blu-rays/Kai, won't have any reason buy the series again.dbboxkaifan wrote:The Level Blu-rays were being professionally remastered whereas this one is a rushed job as almost each month there's a new "season" released.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:I wouldn't get your hopes up for that. Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

"Dragon Box Z: Dragon Ball Z HD" is more of a job for Toei than FUNimation because they're the ones who have it but even then, it looks like Toei prefers just upscaling instead of giving a full high definition release to their customers who'll pay $300+ (in yens) for it.TheKingOfKamehamehas wrote:All we know for sure now is that we are not getting 16:9 again. Saint Seiya was released on Blu-ray but it's an upscale sadly, still, it looks very good (I think I read it was the same company who remastered Kai 1-98). I'd buy this if it was released in US/UK!

I doubt we will ever get the Dragon Boxes in HD. They scanned the film in SD to do the Dragon Box remaster, so if they wanted to release it in HD, they would have to rescan the film in HD(Which they probably allready did for Kai), and then go back and remove all the damage to the film again, so I don't think they would see that as worth it, since when they did the Dragon Box remaster, there was no other release yet, so they could get a bigger profit.

Its hard to say what we will get from FUNi next. I think they might touch on something other than Z this go around, and I think all fan bases will be happy with the release. Idk I'm just talking lol but we need a really good releaseof something right?
