That's only currently. Just to give you an example, the current global food production is dependent on fertilizers. A key ingredient of fertilizers, and of all life, is phosphorus. There's simply no life or effective fertilizers without phosphorus and there's no possible substitute. And the acquisition of phosphorus today is easy because its easily extracted from great phosphorus deposits. However, there are finite number of these great deposits and once they run out, the acquisition of phosphorus would be instantly much more difficult, and the production of fertilizers would be much more difficult. Eventually there could come a time where their production would not meet the needs and global food distribution would take a severe hit. That event is called peak phosphorus if you care to research it.RandomGuy96 wrote:
The acquisition of which would become comically easy with infinite power. The world has a food surplus; there's way more than enough food for everyone to go around. This is not the problem. While infinite power wouldn't instantly usher in a utopia, it would greatly improve the standard of living just about everywhere.
And why does this happen? Because these things all have finite quantities even when there's more than enough for everyone. Infinite energy doesn't solve this at all. Infinite energy just removes one of the finite things from the equation. It certainly would make things easier, no doubt, but there would still be many problems/issues/whatever.
Its specifically stated that Dr. Gero suppressed #18's power a bit to try to make her more controllable. So, he could make them weaker if he wanted to. And he probably could make them even stronger, he just didn't think he would need to since he believed that Goku and the others would be much weaker than they actually were and he and #19 even considered Yamcha's power level in the android arc comparable to the power level they expected Goku to have.DBZGTKOSDH wrote: My question is: are these things stated, or they are assumptions? Is it stated that Dr. Gero couldn't make them weaker than that?
