^Was this a song that the characters sang? Because those obviously get dubbed, even in One Piece. There aren't any of those in Dragon Ball, though.

Not... always. FUNimation had to leave the songs in Guilty Crown in Japanese, despite being sung by one of the lead characters.

^Really? So, the characters just break out singing in a different voice and language? That's pretty awkward, actually.

If you think that, then you'd probably go insane watching Portuguese dubs. Happens so much here that I got desensitised to it.

"I'm going to sing a song in Japanese as part of my assignment and OOWWWW, my vocal cords are going to change my voice for a couple minutes, conveniently being the exact length of the song!"

Ok, back on topic now. Hearing the possibility of getting dubbed songs is awesome just imaging how they would sound. I still don't think it's very likely, though. Not because of copyright, these are probably in-house songs. It's just that they're already in English, and the Korean broadcast left them intact.

Eh, I guess it's a bit suspension of disbelief. We know damn well that the shows we're watching were originally in another language, so it doesn't bother us too much when they drop to another language for a song. Just off memory, here in Portugal:

- In the second season of Cardcaptor Sakura, Tomoyo dropped to Japanese to sing a concert.
- In the 2011 Doraemon movie, both Gian and Pippo sung in Japanese (though Gian really should've been dubbed. Oh well.)
- In Ojamajo Doremi, Onpu's singing is always in Japanese. Same for that one episode where the girls all sing together.

Though I'd argue that situations where a character's singing is deliberately meant to be bad for the sake of hilarity should absolutely be dubbed. The humour doesn't really work as well otherwise. Can you imagine if in the English dub of Battle of Gods, Vegeta's bingo song was randomly dropped to Japanese?

Does it have the green tint like the japan version ? It doesn't look like it to me

Still has the green tint, yeah. That was just a false rumour in the end.

Lazy screen shot. They're the same. Media player downsampling makes the JPN version look a little sharper and the stream quality of the KOR version makes it look softer. They are identical though.

So....was the (Videl) bleeding scene censored as a black and white version because it's on TV, or do you think that's something TOEI put in for the International edition? I hope it's the former.

I hope so, too. That sudden switch to black and white is really awkward. I really hope there isn't going to be censorship like this throughout the international version. Aye, it's just one thing after another with both versions. :problem: As of this moment, my preference is leaning towards the broadcast version. FUNi's dub is probably going to be the international version's saving grace for me.

That's literally all I want from Kai.

If I watch it in Japanese, it's Z.

Should be the former. Korea's more sensitive to violence and other things, so it gets censored. I've seen them do this before.

Same here. The new English dub is the only thing that makes Kai worth it for me. To this day, I've probably only watched a total of 20 minutes of Kai in Japanese.

I'll add my voice to that chorus. I've seen a fair deal of Kai in Japanese, but the performances have been either just as good or worse than the DBZ performances (with some exceptions here and there, but not enough in my book). If I'm watching the show in Japanese, it's DBZ, and if I'm watching it in English, it's Kai. Were it not for the new English dub, my interest in Kai would be fairly minimal.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

This week's Episode of "The Final Chapters" is titled:

14화 "만신창이 비델 한계에 도달한 오반의 분노!!"

Google translates as:

"Wrath of Oban wreck bidel reached the limit !"

English Title:

"Videl, Worn Ragged. Gohan’s Anger at its Limits!!"

Next week's Episode is entitled:

15화 "꿈틀거리는 음모!! 목표는 손오반"

Google translates as:

"Lurching plot ! The goal is sonohban"

English Title:

"A Slithering Conspiracy!! Gohan’s Power is Stolen"

I'll be recording some of this week's episode as always, and will upload here.

So considering that they decided to go 1-69 than from 99+ it's possible that FUNimation could do a release of Kai Final Chapters differetly from the Parts and Seasons that already exist and well, it'd make sense.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

So I did some math, and comparing the titles
DBZ_Lee wrote:"A Slithering Conspiracy!! Gohan’s Power is Stolen"
From the original Z (episode 219) and the International Kai (Episode 15) the material has been cut by a fourth (Episode 200 marks the beginning of the Buu saga so 200 through 219 equals 20 episodes total --- 20-15= 5 --- 5/20 = 25% cut). Also taking the given total number of Buu saga episodes from both series gives the same percentage of material cut (92 (Z) - 69 (International Kai) = 23 --- 23/92 = 25%. So if I did the math right, it seems that overall the pacing is pretty much going to be 25% of filler cut give or take.
