Piccolo's death and Kami's fading

Post by Anonymous Friend » Tue Sep 19, 2006 1:29 am

When Piccolo died during the Saiyan Saga, is there a specific reason why his body stayed there and Kami's body faded away??

It may have something to do with Kami being a magical, godly entity. Maybe that's just what happens to Kami's when they die in the DragonBall universe. Or it could be because it was Piccolo who died, and he was just sorta "pulled along" into the afterlife with him. The same thing happened to Piccolo when it was Kami dieing in the Garlic Jr. saga. (no bitching please about filler, thanks everyone.)

Perhaps he was being allowed to keep his body. I don't beleive he was dying physically in a sense?
Just remember, everytime something bad is happening to you. Something even worse is happening to someone else.

Your refering to the Ocean Group edited DBZ Saiyan Saga dub, in my Dragon Box DVD Piccolo's body vanishes when he dies in the Saiyan Saga.

Kami actually does fade away in the Japanese version. So did Goku when he died fighting Raditz.

I know that, but Anonymous Friend was refering to seeing Piccolo's body being left on the battle field when he died... instead of it vanishing like in the Japanese version.

I know Kami's body vanishes in both versions, but so did Piccolo's aswell.

Well it had a lot to do with the effect of Goku having to check Piccolo's pulse. It made for a much more dramatic scene. Seeing how Piccolo was the one that actually was killed, it makes sense for Kami just to disappear. Unfortunately, I've never seen the Japanese version of Piccolo dying but if someone could link it or something, it would shed some light on this.

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

In the Manga Piccolo never disappears...what an unexpected alteration for the Anime.

Well, now the question has to be answered two ways. Luckily, I have neither.
