DB Universe Map - Exact locations of planets and places?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

DB Universe Map - Exact locations of planets and places?

Post by Alestat » Thu Sep 04, 2014 3:46 pm

I was searching for a map of the DB universe but i couldn't find any useful material on the internet, so i decided to make my own.
There's not much known about the exact locations of different planets in the mortals' universe, though one could determinate the approximate coordinates, using pure logic.

The map:

http://alestatflowolf0.wix.com/dbdmap

or
The method:

I used this databook page as a starting point:
  • It clearly shows the Namek's, the Vegeta's, Freeza No. 79's and the Earth's position. We know that the Earth is in the Northern part of the universe. That means that the other 3 planets must be in the Eastern quadrant. We also know, that the Makai, the Demon Realm is located in the mortal's universe instead of the fact, that there are deities living there (Makaios and Makaioshins with other non-deity creatures such as the Madoshis, Dabura and other demon-like beings). The demon realm located at the center of the universe, in the middle-bottom. I used these 5 places as a starting point.
  • In the next step a started to make groups. Groups of planets which are presumably near each other. For example: Vegeta-> Kanassa, Meat, Tritek, Tabbu, Shaatsu - these were all targets of the saiyajin's/freeza's conqueror campaign. Or another group: Namek-> Yardrat, Metamor, Fake Namek, Litt - These were all close to the original Planet Namek.
  • Another method i used: There were references that indicated planets locations compared to each other. For example: Coola No. 98 (originally Planet Brench, Sauzā's home planet) is in the same solar system as Jeice's homa planet (source: Shonen Jump). Or: Planet Metamor is the next planet after Yardrat according to Rikūmu's statement. Or: Shamo is next to New Vegeta.
  • I made another kind of groups. There are some planets which we don't know much about the exact location, but we know that they belong to a certain territory. For example: Beppa (Cooler No. 256), Zalt (Cooler No. 6) and Brench (Cooler No. 98) are belong to Cooler's Empire. Or: Beenz, Kabocha, Nutts and Ikonda must be close to each other, since Turles recruited his henchmen from these planets.
  • The last method i used was the assistance of the Kaios. When a new planet appeared in the story sometimes they mentioned which quadrant it belongs to. For example: The Konatsu and the New Vegeta is in the South Quadrant. Also at Other World Tournament every Kaio had their attendants/students from their own quadrant. So we know that for example Paikuhan is from the Western quadrant.
  • And of course there are some planet's which we don't know anything except it's existence and maybe it's name. For example the Popol was mentioned by Kibito or the Hera, where Bojack's race came form. I just made a good guess and put these planets somewhere.
Meaning of colours:

I haven't finished editing this map, so here is the list of the meaning of different colored regions.
  • Pink - Territory of Freeza
  • Orange - Territory of Chilled
  • Purple - Territory of Cooler
  • Turquoise - Territory of Cold
  • Brownish - Arcosian Empire
  • Light Blue - Galactic Empire
  • Yellow - Ancient Tsufurujin territory
  • Red - Demon Realm
Summary:
  • This map based on the manga, anime (the series, fillers, movies, specials, ova's, everything), games, databooks, Galactic Patrolman Jaco, Dr. Slump and other Toriyama works and interviews. GT is not included.
  • I used some English names for the planets, for those which didn't have a name in the original Japanese.
  • Since i made this map, for my doujinshi, there are 4 planets i made up, and those are not exist in the official franchise. These planets are the following: Kumisu, Zankou, Aisu No. 1, Tsufuru
  • Jeice's planet had no name so i named it Rakukan (a pun for kanraku which means Cheese in Japanese)
  • I wasn't sure if i opened this topic in the right section, but since it's more like a research of the original franchise, than a fanwork i think this is the right place for it. Sorry if not :P
  • English is not my native language, forgive my grammar mistakes and my strange terms. Hopefully you will understand my point.
  • Please let me know, if you find a mistake or contradiction in my map. Also let me know if u can add new information to it. After all that was the main reason i made this thread.
  • The map includes only the planets with an actual name. Soon I'll update it with all the DB universe's alien races. For example: "Ginyu's planet" or "Pui-pui's Planet" etc.
  • If your are interested in my doujinshi, i attach 2 sample pages. Otherwise it takes another 7-8 months until i release it to the public.

I've been looking for a galactic universe map that actually showed off the planets, this looks good. And as artwork goes, it looks great.

I'm glad u like it Mr Williams. I hope we could make a more accurate map with the collective knowledge of the DB fanatics.
The best way to get the right answer on the Internet is not to ask a question, it's to post the wrong answer.

So you did shared one more picture of your work here, THX :). It looks good. As I've already told you, I like you map, keep up the hard work. I like that ancient Tsufuru-jin territory theory, 'cuz I can guess it isn't accidental that you put the Planet Saiya so close to it. I assume it has something to help saiyans to get on Planet Plant sometime in the past.
English is not my first language!
I'm still waiting for Dragon Ball in Super...
