Why do fans hate/demonize Yamcha and Chi-Chi?

The funny thing is that Chi-Chi is the only fictional mother I know who is disliked and demonized for at least trying to do the right thing for her child, even though it's annoying and unnecessary sometimes, but fans can be hypocritical when it comes to bashing parenting styles on this show. For example:

Vegeta: Punches and hits Future Trunks throughout the Cell Saga

Fans: "Bulma should have given Trunks a "things not to say to Vegeta" manuel. "Haha, Gary-Stu Trunks deserved it" "Father of the Year, there."

Chi-Chi: Scolds Gohan for wanting to go to Namek

Fans: "Chi'Chi's literally the worst mom ever." "Chi-Chi's a bitch, she should STFU!" "Bad mother"

These comments are real and taken from Youtube, and I'm not making it up.

As for Yamcha, I hate hearing about bashing fics of him being a rapist and a jerk, when really, he's a nice guy who was outright afraid of women. I know I'll get some heat for saying this, but I've always sided with Yamcha when it came to his relationship with Bulma.

I've gotta agree with you there, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if Yamcha was the one who ended it, at least in the main timeline. He was probably fed up with her treatment of him, and saw Vegeta as more of an opportunity to get out of it, if anything.

I like both of them, but think that the latter is heavily flanderized in filler episodes.
