I think Buu Saga of Kai was always going to be released in 2015, and that can probably explain why they released all of Z in 2014. They have no real reason to re-release Z in 4x3 other than to appease a few fans.

You're being very inconsiderate and rude by saying that, the only 4x3 AR releases of DBZ that were released fully uncut were.. Dragon Boxes Z and nothing else. The Dragon Boxes Z are out of print and rare so the prices have increased but if they were still being produced there'd be no reason to ask for another 4x3 AR release (as it's the most complete of all).Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I think Buu Saga of Kai was always going to be released in 2015, and that can probably explain why they released all of Z in 2014. FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I'm still waiting for a region 2 release of dbz in 4x3 all we have is the orange bricks and these new Blu ray sets which I'm enjoying but want a true release.dbboxkaifan wrote:You're being very inconsiderate and rude by saying that, the only 4x3 AR releases of DBZ that were released fully uncut were.. The UK singles of DBZ provide 4x3 AR screenshots but on the technical info it says "16:9 Anamorphic" which is probably right but then they shouldn't be using fullscreen caps to show bits of the series.

They're like £4 a piece though considering Manga UK cancelled the Singles I just never got around to buy them.

Sorry, I was not meant to come off like that, all I was trying to say was that FUNi's only real motive to do 4x3 is to get in the good books of the hardcore/elitist fans, and compared to the general public they are only a 'few'.dbboxkaifan wrote:You're being very inconsiderate and rude by saying that, the only 4x3 AR releases of DBZ that were released fully uncut were.. Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
I think your wrong about that. I think FUNi gave the fans no option in the first place, that's why we still have these releases today. Us fans are so accustom to this AR that they don't even care they just want DBZ. We don't see fans raging on DB because they know it is correct except color.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Sorry, I was not meant to come off like that, all I was trying to say was that FUNi's only real motive to do 4x3 is to get in the good books of the hardcore/elitist fans, and compared to the general public they are only a 'few'.dbboxkaifan wrote:You're being very inconsiderate and rude by saying that, the only 4x3 AR releases of DBZ that were released fully uncut were.. Which is funny because there was just a big backlash over FXX doing season set style remastering for the Simpsons. It's a much bigger fan base than Z but I wonder how many of those people say the Season sets are fine because we don't need 4:3 lol They both don't bother me as much as other but I found it funny that as soon as the Simpsons got the "4:3 can't be HD" treatmentI hear a lot of people now saying 4:3 can be HD lol
I would like level sets, but at this point..I'm watching it online until we get a 4:3 and if not...maybe at some point I'll get the season sets
Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
Did they release the full series like that or are they the canceled sets? I agree with Gonstead they do look like kai screenshotsdbboxkaifan wrote:The UK singles of DBZ provide 4x3 AR screenshots but on the technical info it says "16:9 Anamorphic" which is probably right but then they shouldn't be using fullscreen caps to show bits of the series.

If memory serves, they did the exact same thing with the Orange Bricks... correct? (showed a 4:3 picture on the back, but the release is actuall 16:9).Gdugz wrote:Did they release the full series like that or are they the canceled sets? Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
DB DBox color corrections & DBox color corrections.

They released all 9 Orange Bricks but for the Singles they cancelled by the Saiyan arc (they just weren't profitable overall).Gdugz wrote:Did they release the full series like that or are they the canceled sets? I agree with Gonstead they do look like kai screenshots

That was from the Manga UK's podcast, so it's spot-on.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Apparently its 'cuz they were planning to sell in supermarkets but then something fell through last minute and they got stuck with them.

Does anyone have a problem with their blu-ray discs freezing? I'm on disc 1 of season 3 and it's the only one giving me any trouble. It keeps freezing everytime I click play on the main menu. Not sure if it's my PS3 or these half-asses blurays being faulty.

I'm 3 seasons in and so far no problems. have you got any other Blu-ray players to check it?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I tried the same disc on my parents' bluray player and it worked just fine. Must be my PS3.
