Favorite Comedy-Oriented AMV?

Post by TheBlackPaladin » Thu Aug 28, 2014 11:45 pm

Granted, most of the AMVs made about Dragon Ball are of a serious tone, but every once in a while, I've seen some good comedy-oriented ones.

I love this one, for example. Vegeta's poses and lip movements match perfectly, and the editor even managed to take the singer's vibrato into account.

It is not my favorite, though. My favorite, unfortunately, was taken down, and I've never been able to find it again. It was made by a YouTuber named Tanooki Kuribo (there's a Kanzenshuuer by that name, but I don't know if it's the same guy or not). It was an AMV told from Freeza's point of view, using the Toy Story song, "Strange Things."

Like I said, the video is unfortunately gone. However, imagine the visuals if you can, from Freeza's point of view. Here are the lyrics to that song:

I was on top of the world livin high
It was right in my pocket
I was livin' the life
Things were just the way they should be
When from out of the sky like a bomb comes some little punk in a rocket
Now all of a sudden some strange things are happenin' to me

I had friends,
I had lots of friends
Now all my friends are gone
And I'm doin' the best I can to carry on

I had power (power)
I was respected (respect)
But not any more
And I've lost the love to the one whom I adored

Let me tell you about the strange things are happenin' to me
Strange things
Strange things are happenin' to me...
Ain't no doubt about it!

As soon as I saw this thread title, I instantly remembered this little gem. I'm sure there's others, but I'm actually having a hard time finding any at the moment.

AHA! Forgot this one, though I guess it might not really count as an AMV...hmm.

I remember that one and it was made by the guy here on Kanzenshuu.

I found this one a long time ago and had completely forgotten about it until I saw this thread.
This will never not be my sig:
VegettoEX wrote:"Snoop Lion" is just a character he's playing for his reggae album and documentary. Him saying that it's his new name is all part of the character.

I can't believe this is on-topic.

Yup, that was me! Glad you liked it. It's not around anymore because I don't have the file. I actually made it twice because the first time I made it back in 2005, I put it on YouTube and I deleted the file. Why? Because I'm an idiot. The video got taken down and that was the end of that! A few years later, I think it was in 2009 or so, after people kept asking me for it, I made it once again. By this time you'd think I learned my lesson. But no. I deleted the file and the same exact thing happened. I've been thinking about doing it again for a third time. I want to, but I don't think it's in me. At least not right now it's not.

I had a second video planned from the Toy Story soundtrack. It wasn't really suppose to be a funny one. If you listen to the words of "I Will Go Sailing No More" it seems tailor made to fit Vegeta's life. I never did it because there's not enough footage of what I visualized.

Vegeta's Attitude Show was the first AMV I've seen like that. That was back in high school... damn that was a long ass time ago.

I love that Mother's Day Special, too funny.

Well, it's up to you, but I'd like to register a "YES" vote for you doing that. Third time's a charm!

I know right!
It's amazing how well it really fits and the fact that he has an afro like the lead singer of LMFAO.
