DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.Rukura about Sparking Omega wrote:I'm imagining people from Namco Bandai looking at these big sites talking about the announcement and them going "Wait....what?! Did we do that? Are we doing that? *turns to Spike* Are you people doing that?"
All I know is that it's going to be at the EB Expo.budokaifanatic007 wrote:Anyone know the next event that XENOVERSE will be at? I hope they confirm a lot more stuff like GT and DB characters.
So you're saying that 2D fighters are a thing of the past? Wrong.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I really think people need to let go of Budokai. They are in the past. We are now in the era of high definition consoles where the developers can be focusing on more stuff to work on. Like Xenoverse.
I've yet not been given a chance to play it and even though it looks very promising I'm not going to pre-order blindly, I'd rather put that money towards a game by Platinum Games. I ain't trying to diss Dimps (they're an awesome development team for sure!), but Bandai's decisions to make Dragon Ball games just haven't been the best.I don't care about reviews, I will snatch this game on the release date!
He didn't say anything about 2D fighters in general. He was talking about the Budokai series specifically. It's the same for those clamoring for BT4 or RB3. A new game can be 2D/2.5D/3D and not be like Budokai or Tenkaichi/Raging Blast.dbboxkaifan wrote:So you're saying that 2D fighters are a thing of the past? It is a thing of the past, though. And, as far as future productions go, should be replaced with HD resolution. If it was something older that was created in 4x3, sure. But anything new from here on out should definitely be done in HD resolution if possible.
That's like saying 4x3 AR is in the past and shouldn't be brought back but instead replaced with 16x9 AR 'cause that's the standard now.

How narrow minded. Next they should be making Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat fully 3D because PS4 and Xbox One is next gen and nobody plays 2D games anymore.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I really think people need to let go of Budokai. Calling everyone who thinks Dragon Ball games should evolve "Tenkaichi casuals" is indeed being narrow minded, sir.TheGameTagerZ wrote:How narrow minded. The 3DS offers Street Fighter IV In a 3D perspective (behind the shoulder like Xenoverse/Tenkaichi/RB) and while it's kinda cool, it just isn't ideal at all to play in that aspect as it feels rather uncomfortable and tacky whereas in 2D you know exactly what you're doing.TheGameTagerZ wrote:How narrow minded. So just because 2D is apparently "better" for serious play, it means it's impossible to create a competitive 3D fighting game? No, it's not.TheGameTagerZ wrote:"evolve"
Going from 2D to 3D is evolving? There's a huge difference between the two types of play.
2D is better for serious play while 3D is fun for casuals. I have my fair share of 3D games that I like but I already know what I'm getting into when I play a 3D Dragon Ball game.
You're arguing with somebody who seems as dense as a collapsed star. It'd probably be best to just let him have his opinion.Doctor. wrote:So just because 2D is apparently "better" for serious play, it means it's impossible to create a competitive 3D fighting game? That's all they have left to confirm and show at this point.budokaifanatic007 wrote:I hope they confirm a lot more stuff like GT and DB characters.
If it wasn't impossible it would of been made a long time ago. I mean Super Dragon Ball Z did it but it was a weird game to play (in my opinion of course).Doctor. wrote:So just because 2D is apparently "better" for serious play, it means it's impossible to create a competitive 3D fighting game? To each their own. Also who cares if he only has two posts we all have to start somewhere just remember the first time you came to the forum.TheGameTagerZ wrote:If it wasn't impossible it would of been made a long time ago. Games like Super Smash Bros. for example wouldn't be fun in a 3D field.
Like I said before I do enjoy my 3D games but I'm not going to sit here and pretend they're competitive. They're just fun, casual games that are faithful to the anime.

People who usually complain about Budokai are the same one's who are either terrible at the game or simply do not enjoy the fact that they can't fly around freely.
With 3D gaming you're dedicating a lot of controls for movement, camera, flight, lock on and so on that eventually you're left with a few buttons to attack with and end up becoming mashers.
@Coloniel
Sort of.
It'd probably also be best to avoid put-downs like this over something as subjective and ultimately inconsequential as video games.PrinceOfAllSaiyans wrote:You're arguing with somebody who seems as dense as a collapsed star. It'd probably be best to just let him have his opinion.
I seen a lot of those comments before. 3D has been going on for years now. I remember suggesting that they make 3D game one year then 2D the next and keep alternating but a lot of 3D fans disagreed and selfishly wanted only 3D to stay.budokaifanatic007 wrote:Tenkaichi fans are scared that if BN makes a 2D/2.5D DBZ they will never make another 3D one....if you don't like the game no one is forcing you to buy it, let other people with different preferences than you have their game.
And you only have 90-something. So what?TheGameTagerZ wrote:You only have two posts here. Not going to take what you're saying seriously.
