I too look forward to news. I think we know less about this movie in September 2014 than we did about the previous film September 2012. Nevertheless, it's only a matter of time. Heck, we didn't learn about the title for Kami to Kami until 10 November 2012, so we're not that far off. Hopefully.

What if they really will resurrect Pure Buu in the new movie. Toriyama sated that Pure Buu was ancient being who always existed, and Bibidi did nothing other than to call him out from his slumber. So he used to a being who absorbed a mankind's evil, then shouldn't he be necessary to have the universe's balanced maintained? I know that he was reincarnated as Uub, but still. I'd like to think that new events have some connection with the older ones.

A connection to older events is fine, but rehashing a previous villain for the new, big film isn't exciting. It'll be someone new.

I almost jumped out of my seat. With all the Xenoverse news, I thought Toei might do us a favor and give us some news, but no :p
Yeah, it's almost certain it's a new character. Toriyama most of the time presents his characters in pairs, so one new character reviving and a new character being revived, imo.

Every time this thread updates, I still hope/think it'll be an update. T_T
I gotta get out of that habit.
Anyway!
I'm pretty sure there was a mention of Toriyama designing new characters for this movie. I don't think I'd gonna be Buu.
My hopes for an update are currently pinned on October. Saikyou Jump is coming back, and if you match it up with BOG in terms of a one month later, it should be October.
And if it's not, I'm sure they'll have something at Jump Festa. (Though that's not till December. T_T )

Yeah, I don't see the point in bringing back as past villain, especially one whom ultimately leaves little room for interesting dialogue...or new merchandise to sell.

Besides, every single villain from the past (other than Beerus & Whis) is ridiculously weak compared to Goku.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I not hyped about this lately. Lack of news help it a lot.
Back then, when BOG was announced I felt like a kid again, and I was more curious to see how the new movie would compare with the old ones.
(And I was one of those fans that weren't begging for a sequel because GT ending is perfect for me)
This time I can wait.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
The only thing for me that's working in my favor with there being a drought of DB15 news is that life is currently really busy for me right now, so I don't have time atm to make full-color comics based on movie news like I would be otherwise. The movie's really the only major DB-related thing I'm curious about (XV looks neat, but it feels so much like just a newer/continuation/reboot of DBO that I still have that "been there done that" feeling despite being interested enough to wonder if my laptop would be capable of supporting the game if I chose to buy it.)
On hiatus.

Which is why even though Freeza is my favorite villain, I accept the fact that he's nothing more than a joke character now.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Besides, every single villain from the past (other than Beerus & Whis) is ridiculously weak compared to Goku.

That's true! I'm really curious how can Toriyama bring up a villain that could mean any threat for the God warriors(Godku, Beerus and Whis).godku wrote:Which is why even though Freeza is my favorite villain, I accept the fact that he's nothing more than a joke character now.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Besides, every single villain from the past (other than Beerus & Whis) is ridiculously weak compared to Goku.

With the other universes, it's very easy now. The new villains can be aliens, artificial humans, magical creatures, demons, even gods, all from other universes, so they can be as strong as Toriyama wants and it will make sense.

Hm I could not accept any villain to a match for God Goku in that is not a God. My point is that Troyiama can not do whatever he wants, if doesn't have a satisying reasoning.

Why? Piccolo was stronger than Kami, Nappa was stronger than Kaio, Cell & Dabra were stronger than Kaioshin, and Whis is stronger than Beerus. Gods in Dragon Ball were never all-powerful beings.Low Tone G wrote:Hm I could not accept any villain to a match for God Goku in that is not a God.

People are taking this Godly Ki thing way over the top.
It's just a different energy. It doesn't mean that someone with Godly Ki is automatically stronger than anyone without it.

Personally I think that the new universes thing will be skimmed over. Toriyama has introduced new plot points in the past and then ignored them. Hopefully I'm wrong, though.
