He points out the pros and cons of each games.

Although Vegeta's moveset is extremely gimped his desciption makes me inclinced to think the Saturn version is better, primarily because I prefer a good challenge. Unfortunately the Sega Saturn is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to emulate as a system. :(

I do a lot of emulating and that one's driven me more nuts trying to set up than anything else.

Owning both, although it's been a while since I've played any, the Saturn version had the better game play and seemed a bit faster than the PS1 version. The PS1 version has however a little bit better graphics. And some special attacks vary. So if you can, get both!

Wow never knew this game was on the sega as well. Must find that version someday. I still have a saturn but I don't have a ps1 anymore. Kinda neat the sega one has trees in the background lol. It was really empty in the ps1.

This was accurate, like, 15 years ago. It's wide open with no problems these days. What issues are you having?

Although I only played the Saturn version I'd vouch for the Saturn too because the graphics looked really good and the audio was very clean.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

What? What are you saying? Good graphics and sound? Ugh... The graphics aren't very good on the Saturn version. They're worse than the PS1. But I prefer the gameplay on saturn.

Also: Really? There's a good saturn emulator? (Not that I need it since I own the system, but it'd be fun to try)

The trees actually looked physically complete and overall I was satisfied with the visuals.

A while ago I was playing Blacklist on Wii U and the trees in that game were horribly displayed and that's on an eighth gen console which shouldn't happen any more at this stage.

So you base all the graphics on some trees?

Basically everything. I can't even get it to load up properly, not sure which emulator of which version to get or how to "mount with daemon tools" or of any of that stuff.

Then why do you prefer the Saturn graphics of Legends? I've played both to death and I really disagree with you, even if I think the Saturn version is better overall, but that's thanks to its game play.

It sounds like your main problem is that you have no familiarity with mounting, which yeah, is going make it seem like "nothing works".

In a nutshell, in a way to help prevent flat-out piracy (or at least have the appearance of it), the Saturn emulators I've used don't let you just load up a ROM or disc ISO like other system emulators. You need to either have the actual game disc in your computer's disc drive, or use a program that takes a disc ISO and "mounts" it on your computer (basically telling your computer, "Hey, computer. See this disc ISO? Pretend it's actually a real disc and that it's in a disc drive... which itself also doesn't really exist on this computer, but pretend it does!"). You usually have to also tell the emulator, "Hey, see this disc drive in my computer? Pretend that's a Saturn disc drive."

The emulator works perfectly fine. If you already know that you need to mount a disc, you need to just read up on how to actually use programs like DAEMON Tools to mount them.

The game graphically looks really nice on the Saturn, so which is why it's my pick overall.

Btw, a Japanese copy of The Legend is cheap nowadays but the European still go for about £20+.

I see, thanks for the info.

IIRC, (I could be wrong though, I haven't studied it too in-depth so I have no idea if this is the case or not) I read once that the Sega Saturn was a really complicated system to emulate- and that's the reason it forces you to mount drives. It was also a complicated system to design games for so that was another strike against it. Virtually everything on the Sega Saturn is out of print (it's more or less a dead system) so I don't think the people that made the emulators really cared much about the appearance of trying to avoid the appearance of piracy.

Btw, what is the best version of Daemon Tools to be using with the Sega Saturn?

Yes, it was a complicated system to try and emulate... again, 15 years ago. There are no problems now.

The same mounting ethos is present in certain emulators for other systems (things like the PC Engine). That's exactly what it is: an ethos. It has nothing to do with being complicated to load up an ISO directly versus pretending there's a disc in the drive; there's zero difference there.

There is no "best version" of Daemon Tools. Just use whatever the latest version is; it's fine and they all do the same thing.

Ah okay.

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=da ... ls+spyware

I'll probably use something else though, when I looked up Daemon Tools I found a bunch of links about it using spyware. I think Sega Saturn emulators just take a lot of time to set up the first time- after you learn to do that, it's kind of like riding a bicycle.
