Looks like FUNi put out another special features teaser, this time letting us see some footage of Schemmel recording Goku and Kaio. Pretty interesting to see, at least IMO, as I've seen him do Goku before, but never Kaio.

And yes, I know - this leaves many of you wanting to punch a hole through your computer screens due to the Kaio dub voice. :P

WHOA. Sorry for the double post, but this one seemed worth bumping for rather than editting my previous post. Just saw this on RightStuf's facebook page.

Battle of Gods is in stock at RightStuf at last and should be shipping out tomorrow morning! Yes. Yes yes yes. YES. Now to hurriedly try to do my DB movies 1-4/DBZ movies 1-13 marathon before it gets here. :P

Yay! Hoping that means my order will be upgraded from "backordered". I was excited to see a shipping notice from Right Stuf the other day, then was disappointed that it was just some other stuff I had ordered to get to the minimal free shipping amount and Battle of Gods was listed as backordered :( Though I'm kinda wondering if those who ordered it soonest will get this first batch and people who ordered later will have to wait for the next shipment (wasn't able to place my order until about 2 weeks ago). But good to know it'll be coming soon! :D

I think I'm the only one here who actually likes King Kai / Kaio's dub voice.

I'm kind of on the middle ground myself - I can certainly see the issues with the voice, but for whatever reasons (probably helps that I grew up listening to it), I don't really mind it either. I have no problem understanding what he's saying at all.

Yeah, it still moves on Saturday, it's just on Sunday that it doesn't. If it ships out early enough tomorrow, there's every possibility that we'll start seeing these things come in on Monday, or at the very least, Tuesday (the day of release).

Has anyone else been keeping an eye on their order of it from RightStuf though? I noticed mine is still listed as 'On Order' rather than anything else like 'Reserved for your order'. I ordered it on August 21st, and I'm pretty sure that was the very day it was first listed, so surely I managed to get in that first wave of copies to be sent out?

Mine also still says "On Order from Manufacturer." I placed my order pretty much right after it popped up on RightStuf so I know I'm in the first wave of shipments. I have a feeling it will update to "Reserved for Your Order" in the morning.

I pre-ordered pretty late into this, but mine says the same thing. Hope we all get ours by Monday haha. Really can't wait to hold this thing.

One question. Are there anyone from Z cast that are involved in this movie?

Meredith MCcoy as Android 18 and Bradford Jackson as Oolong.

For the extended edition, for some strange odd reason, they reused clips from season 3 for Gohan and Frieza for the opening segment detailing the story up until that point.

Yeah, the re-use of that audio is just...confusing. Especially on the Nadolny for Goku part. It's like, if we're moving on from that cast, actually move on from it already, bleh. But ah well.

My copy is now listed as 'Reserved for your order' as well, so hopefully it ships out sometime today. They already shipped out my Cardcaptor Sakura volume that'd been on order since July, thankfully. Can I get lucky twice in one day? *Crosses fingers*

I really don't see what's so confusing about them re-using Nadolny and Young's voices. It's the exact same thing as them getting back McCoy as #18, Jackson as Oolong, and Hebert as the narrator. They obviously want to use the "Z" cast for productions with the "Z" branding. I can't say whether they're doing it for nostalgia or for the benefit of casual fans who didn't watch Kai or play the recent video games or both or whatever, but they apparently want to keep some kind of consistency with the DB/Z/GT cast and use the Kai cast for newer/obscure stuff that doesn't keep the "Z" name.

Time will tell if they really want to keep this up or if it was just a one-time thing for a "big" movie like this one.

For the new footage stuff in the extended edition, I think you're over-thinking it.

Sabat told us on the record that it was a SUPER fast production. For that incidental stuff, I have to imagine it was waaaaaay easier to just grab archive stuff than it was to record new stuff. I'm fairly certain Linda Young will never again record new material for Freeza every in the history of all time for anything ever really forever ever again. Probably more of a basis to work with and grab from with her than it was for Ayres' material. Maybe it was more readily available due to the recent Blu-ray work.

I Pre-Ordered One Piece: Film Z, and it didn't ship out to me until the day it hit store shelves. Hopefully that shifted our luck with BoG.

Perhaps I am giving them too much credit by assuming that it's a deliberate strategy of theirs to use the old voices in future "Z" stuff. As you said, I certainly don't expect Nadolny or especially Young to reprise their roles in any future productions. They also seemed perfectly happy keeping Rial as Bulma.

Still, considering they bothered to add those voices to the prologue in the first place (they could have just as easily kept Freeza silent), I can't help but think that somebody at FUNi/OkraTron took a few seconds to ask themselves, "Okay, do we want this actor or this actor?" I don't doubt that it was easier to skip recording altogether and just root through their archives. And heck, maybe it was easier to access certain actors' voice clips, like you stated. I'm just assuming that the same line of thinking that resulted in McCoy and Jackson being brought back was what resulted in Nadolny and Young's voices being used (if only for this one movie).

Cancelled my order but asked them like an hour ago to uncancel it. Hope it works and I can get it by at least Monday. I have Second day air chosen. It also says my ship date was yesterday which was weird.
