Disk Wars: Avengers Episode #16 on 16 July 2014. This is hardly any sort of conclusive evidence, but it sure would be nice if he is taking on the role of character designer and chief animation supervisor for this film.

Until the harsh reality emerges that they've got him working on World Trigger.

World Trigger? The one Greg from OPP complained about for its constant use of duck-face? (At least from what I recall hearing. I think it was Greg, but it could've been another of the show's hosts.)
That would be awful if World Trigger gets Tate instead. I hope that doesn't happen.

It certainly isn't impossible, given World Trigger was in production as far back as May. I guess we'll see how this all pans out when the staff lists start coming it.

I hope whoever it is for DB15 will be allowed to escape at least some of the trappings of Yamamuro's character design. Tate was a breath of fresh air in his moment in the 2008 Jump Tour special.
If anything, they could at least cite "Toriyama's writing it" as an excuse to leave Yamamuro's art style and try something a little closer to the art from the manga.

Hope we get some awesome action scenes like the last one piece special.

I hope so too.
VJump comes out in two and a half weeks. I have hopes for an update in there.
World Trigger airs tonight so we'll know by tomorrow if they took Tate or not.
The Jump Festa site updated yesterday, but the lineup still hasn't been posted for the stages.

If they're going to take that long to show us something then it needs to be big in both content and scale.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

It makes me think they should've announced this movie in September instead of July with how long we've been waiting for news. Making people wait too long kills hype, especially on the internet. Last thing you want if you're selling something is for people to forget about you or lose their patience and stop caring about your product.
Smaller windows are better in this case, imo.

I agree because my hype already died. But usually when news pop up its like Christmas again.
The movie will still came earlier than I thought. I was only expecting a new one for 2016.
Nothing ever will seem announced too early to me after Final Fantasy XV

(announced in 2006, still no release date)

My hype's also temp dead. I mean, at least without updates, it can't distract me from the massive amount of homework I'm currently working on, but still, I think not following up sooner on that July announcement was a misstep.
I guess it's not bad if you also follow the video game DB stuff, but I'm just not that interested in XV or Heroes.

My hype level has been the same if not more then it was in July especially after watching Funi's dub of BOG which cleared up a few things for me.

I was at work when I read the announcement of the film and I was literally so excited that I was finding it difficult to concentrate on anything else! I agree with others though that since then my hype has decreased and that's for no other reason than there has been no news. No news on the plot, no news on the characters (such as the villain), no more footage to watch, no title for the film, no specific release date or running time. It's just all gone very quiet.
In fact I've been more excited about Battle of Gods recently (a film I've now seen 4 times) because the English dub is due to come out... so I'm just looking forward to that in all honesty. When it picks up though and the release gets closer and closer I'm sure my excitement level will shoot back up in no time!

Haha, it's still not late for him to be involved in other episodes of

I just want the animation to be nicer this time around (and have better character models). TuT
The story at least I have some confidence in seeing as one of the few things advertised about it so far was "the notoriously hard-to-please editor Torishima likes the story". The animation I'm still uneasy about; at least until they reveal more staff members.

My hope is that Toriyama's including of extra action will prompt the switch to an easier to draw character model. If Tate Naoki is brought in to design and act as chief animation supervisor that would help a livelier movie easier on such a strict time table. Again, though, there really is no guarantee at this point anything good will come out of this.

Because I'm mostly unfamiliar with adapting character models for ease, what is it about Yamamuro's current character models that make them difficult to draw/animate? I was under the impression that it's due to their blocky-ness. What could be simplified about them to make the character models easier to move?

His models, by his own admission, for
Battle of Gods focused on the details of the clothing. Extra detail means extra time to draw on model, unless you're okay with drawing off-model. I also can't imagine it's easier to draw his faces. While animators are not paid by time, the schedule of this project is short enough that production will need to occur quickly, so if the character models are more streamlined it should be easier for talented animators to draw more cuts, should they be so inclined.
