So I finally sat down and played some Battle of Z

...And honestly, after understanding the controls, I have to say I enjoy it, even if it's a bit chaotic!

For those that enjoy Battle of Z the only way of truly experiencing is through its online modes, because once the online is shut down the offline game has almost no replay value after you've completed it once or so.

Story mode is fun when playing with other people, battle modes are incredibly chaotic and unbalaced. I enjoyed it during my first 2 playtroughs (one solo, other coop) but it gets extremely repetitive when you want those Premium Points and Battle Mode is only fun when you're playing score battle, as people just go in Normal Battle to insta-lock characters with 0 retries and they also never revive you so you lose almost instantly, Capture the Dragon Balls is a nice distraction but depending on who's playing it can take a lot of time as one knock-down steals your Dragon Balls.

I started the game on solo offline, and got boring really fast, especially because of the difficulty / stupidity of the AI.

When playing with friends it's a lot better, but without Porunga's Wish card, you'd never get the +100 cards because of how long it takes to get decent DP/PP. (I forget which one buys cards.)

It's an incredible amount of fun if you have friends to play with, especially if they're DBZ fans.

Just downloaded the demo. I found it really fun in the first two missions and will buy the actual game. As the OP, I have no idea why they hate this game so much. I like it a lot more than raging blast. I love the graphics, the presentation, the music ... Raditz's voice actor sounds bored out his skull, though.

when I first played the demo I hated the way it played HATED IT! however I still bought it and once I started playing I couldn't stop. it does get. really hard at some points but can easily change and here is how. even though you ,may not want to, going back and playing the missions really does help, I would constantly go back to fight freezas 150 soldiers and it got me more comfortable with how to strategically fight when a lot is going on and made the newer missions easier. at first beating the ginyu force all at once was a real pain, now that is the stage I go to train. not only you get better but the computer ranks up and gets points. also the ai is really bad IF during he battle you are playing poorly and not reviving them or taking out any of the enemies the more the computer feels you are doing well the more likely they will help you them being at level 10 with some substantial points doesn't hurt either. of course you need a support type if you really want to be revived, but like I said for them to help often you need to be causing some solid damage. I have beat the game and got the highest rank on all stages. there are certain teams I have found work better than others, I wouldn't suggest having the cpu be a Melee type because no matter what, they are programmed to be close to the enemy which causes them to constantly die. Gohan adolescent, piccolo and fat majin buu are the best for reviving hands down, make sure you equip them with lots of high speed and energy cards. I can give you or anyone more tips, fighting strategy, and character rosters if needed and are trying to clear the game with the computer assistance only. Hope someone takes me up on the offer I would love to help! I wouldn't say its a perfect game but if frustration is the main reason you don't like it, I can help and once you have some solid ideas on how to efficiently use the fighting system all the frustration dissipates and you can REALLY enjoy the game for all its worth!
