I had a blast playing the network test this weekend.
PROS
-wonderful animations for the characters and special attacks
-great defensive options that make every match a nail biter/ many cancelable moves afford greater flexibility than say BoZ or J-Stars.
-tons of fun equip-able skills to unlock or purchase
-great online functionality (getting challenged to a battle by a stranger in tokitoki city makes the game feel spontaneous and dynamic)
-Server jankiness notwithstanding LITTLE TO NO LOADING BETWEEN FIGHTS
-Hilarious lobby animations add more to the game than expected. People sleeping under benches like bums was my absolute highlight.
Cons
-getting stuck at a different altitude from your opponent can lead to some awkward situations as the burst dash doesn't track vertically
-the game can feel. . .sluggish in general due to long, labored start up animations for everything from ki charging, to burst dashing, to using specials
-some balancing concerns as I would sometimes face someone much lower leveled or much higher leveled than me in battles. I hope there's a way to fight others at the same level ala Pokemon.
-burst dash in general was unwieldy to control and not terribly useful.
-controls could be overly complex and unintuitive (x to ascend while dashing but L3 to descend is confusing as heck)
all in all I had a great time and can't wait for the game to hit shelves. Hype levels through the roof! Here are some crappy cell phone pictures of my original character (do not steal).

If they extend the servers then it's usable again otherwise it's just taking up space.samuraix123 wrote:It's okay to go ahead and delete the beta right guys? I don't reckon they're gonna do anything else with it?
Still, you can deleted and then redownload at any time if you want to clean up the HDD.

Anyone that does a report please say we want beam clashes! I completely forgot to say that in mine!
Yeah boost dash seems to be the number 1 most common complaint in the community. I know people say descend is mapped poorly but I tried to think of how to remedy the solution and came up with nothing. Anyone have any ideas for how they could fix it ?

There's a possibility that there will be more combos in the final game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUiA6KY ... icoilY_lBQ
Can't say I'm surprised, cuz I knew there would be more. When I was playing the Saiyan Blood mission, Piccolo did a "stretchy arm whirlwind combo on me. I was trying to find out how to do it, but then found out that I can't.

My PC... isn't that great. It's decent. It can play Saints Row 4 flawlessly, at low graphics settings, same with Skyrim, I don't want to risk it with this one. It may or may not run as smoothly as my other games.sangofe wrote:Why not get it for Steam?DarkPrince_92 wrote:Really debating PS3 vs PS4. One has better graphics, but I'd have to pay for online. I think the most graphically impressive thing my computer has done is run League of Legends at max settings while maintaining a smooth 60 fps. Honestly I think upgrading the RAM, processor, and graphics card (along with cooling system if needed) and you should be good to go.DarkPrince_92 wrote:My PC... isn't that great. It's decent. I usually play games on my computer, since consoles are overrated, although I understand many people can't afford a gaming computer.
"There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause troubles without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood… and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others: They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them… because in truth, I am that monster."

I could upgrade the ram, and processor maybe, but the graphics card can't be replaced unless I replace the entire motherboard. Also it's an Alienware laptop, not a desktop PC where I feel most people game on.KentalSSJ6 wrote:I think the most graphically impressive thing my computer has done is run League of Legends at max settings while maintaining a smooth 60 fps. When I first found the L3 would let me go down I agree it was weird hopefully in the full retail game you can mess with the controls a bit. and I also found it funky when you would fly around your opponent making it rough to get to them. lol also there was a way you could fight with others on your same level. when you would look for a match if you clicked custom(I believe) you could switch it to fight with others on your level. that worked wonders for me.radrappy wrote:I had a blast playing the network test this weekend.

Hmm, an Alienware Laptop could handle Dragonball Xenoverse with ease. I don't think you would have any problem playing. The only problem I see is that your laptop would get hot after a while, but you could get a cooling system or stand for that.

I love your character radrappy
I didn't get to play long enough to really create someone cool.
I kinda wish it wouldn't have ended so fast....I miss it.
Someone said they used burst limit soundtrack? are they not going to create a new one or was the one in the game just a place holder? also they should have added some kinda music while you were creating your character.

Ah and there is the problem. Laptops are much less user friendly when it comes to gaming. It's always best to leave major gaming to the desktop and handle the smaller games (such as League) to laptops.DarkPrince_92 wrote:I could upgrade the ram, and processor maybe, but the graphics card can't be replaced unless I replace the entire motherboard. Give this site a frequent look. Xenoverse will likely pop up on there and you'll be able to check how it would perform ahead of time.

Thanks. This is kinda what stopped me from getting the new Naruto Storm game, but it looks like I can actually run it pretty well. I might actually give this a shot.

I'm a little worried about something with Xenoverse. I only just recently realized even the basic starting outfit boosted my stats. To be honest I was kinda disappointed by that as I could see those boosts being the reason I won so many matches. Hopefully they will remove stat boosts from clothing options in the final build. I'd like my character to look good sure but I don't want my win to come from a pair of pants.

I doubt they'll remove it as that's an integral part to building character stats and customization. Hopefully, for online battles, they'll at least include a mode that eliminates all stat boosts either from just equipment or from everything so everyone is fair and balanced. I know they're including MMO/RPG elements, but having built-up/leveled fighters can make things wholly off balance. Though, I suppose that's why the included an option when looking for matches for "Levels around the same as mine" to make it a bit more fair.KentalSSJ6 wrote:I'm a little worried about something with Xenoverse. I agree with you, I would prefer that outfits didn't get any stats, so we can dress as we like without worries about stats and stuffs.KentalSSJ6 wrote:I'm a little worried about something with Xenoverse. Speaking of outfits...Did you guys notice(Which you probably did and have already discussed and now I feel like slowpoke haha) That when you delete your old character and start a new one you were able to keep your outfits that you bought? I thought that was pretty awesome of them to not penalize you for starting over.
