There originally didn't used to be that confusuion. When I first heard about them, they were called the "Dark Star Dragon Balls", then Black Star Balls, now they're the "Ultimate Dragon Balls". I had thought about calling the ones from DBNA the Dark Dragon Balls, but Black Dragon Balls described them better

They were not what he expected which is why he sealed them away in the first place. But Malik can give you a better and proper explanation as he can even create an actual explanation.

This was explained in Chapter 15, but allow me to elaborate...

When Piccolo Daimao created the Black Dragon Balls, he did not complete the process properly. Typically , Dragon Balls take 100 days to create, but Piccolo became impatient and finished his in 80. By doing this, the balls were not active after their completion. Piccolo regarded them as a failure and sealed them away in the forge where they were created. However, the balls WERE working. Unlike normal Dragon Balls, which dispel negative energy as they lay dormant, the Black Dragon Balls are parasitic and absorb living positive energy to recharge their power, making them fundamentally different then any other set of Dragon Balls. Also, due to their improper creation, the Black Dragon Balls are not connected to Piccolo Daimao's life force, and instead are fueled by the limitless energy of the Earth itself. This enables the Black Dragon Balls to grant wishes that would normally far exceed their creator's power, making them the second most powerful set of Dragon Balls next to the Ultimate Dragon Balls. Because they required living positive energy to work, they did not work at first (so for all intents and purposes, they function in direct opposite to regular Dragon Balls), and being sealed away in a cave with few living sources of energy around them caused them to only slowly gather the power they needed, which is why they were never detected before.

Actually, no, because Piccolo biologically is Piccolo Daimao's son and he was born a warrior type. However, he is also the reincarnation of his father and has his experiences. So, he kept the link with Kami but biologically he is another Namekian.

One thing i always wondered, from what i understand, Namekian that seperate into Kami and Piccolo, was Dragon Clansmen, and he was supposed to be incredibly strong, but Dende was Dragon Clansmen, and he wasn't warrior, maybe there are seperate branches of Dragon Clansmen too? And I'm sorry for your father, i've lost mine one year ago. My deepest sympathy

Nice. I'm glad to be seeing how unlike other fan manga artists, you're putting so much effort into making your manga the best it can be, including things like Battle of Gods and just including other new things.
