Dragon Ball and One Piece sharing panel at Jump Festa?
I saw this on Julian's twitter:
EDIT: After some research, I'm more certain this is a shared panel, not an animated special.
I realize it's kinda late considering when Cross Epoch came out, but if it's not that then it's some other DB/OP crossover.
Or am I looking at something old that's not at all related?

I doubt it's old, since I'm seeing World Trigger right there in the corner.
Re: Is Cross Epoch getting a special at Jump Festa?
It's a shame we won't get whatever it is in English.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Is Cross Epoch getting a special at Jump Festa?
If it's not a special for JUMP Festa it might be a special for Strong 9, although given how poorly Toei Animation works are scheduled I kind of doubt we would know about a special being made for May. Then again, maybe the special will first premier at JUMP Festa in December then air on TV to promote the 2015 film?

I know it says "13 Titles", "13 Stages" at the top. I've also considered this is a list of series panels, and that DB and OP are sharing a panel (possibly because they share a lot of voice actors) and OP both shares with DB and gets its own panel because it's super-popular.

Seems new to me. If it was the dream 9 wouldn't it mention Toriko?

The Toriko anime has been cancelled, so I doubt it.Avenged wrote:Seems new to me. If it was the dream 9 wouldn't it mention Toriko?
The manga hasn't been getting good sales either.

I found this on the Jump Festa site: http://www.jumpfesta.com/stage.html
I'm almost certain it's a panel now.

Around half a million sales per volume isn't good sales? Ok. Not to mention that just last year it was the 13th best selling manga series in japan.Doctor. wrote:The Toriko anime has been cancelled, so I doubt it.Avenged wrote:Seems new to me. If it was the dream 9 wouldn't it mention Toriko?

Looked at an old one here: http://i.imgur.com/JHnvD.jpg
Pretty sure it's a panel. Going to change the topic's title now.

What? The manga has been doing fine, it is currently the #3 manga in Shonen Jump (#1 is One Piece, #2 is Naruto). It was the anime that didn't do well.Doctor. wrote:The Toriko anime has been cancelled, so I doubt it.Avenged wrote:Seems new to me. If it was the dream 9 wouldn't it mention Toriko?

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

That would appear to be the correct answer, yes.Chuquita wrote:After some research, I'm more certain this is a shared panel, not an animated special.
Nothing ruling out an eventual crossover special, but it's reading too much into things to derive that from a shared panel.
Actually, I was caught off-guard by the "NEW SPECIAL?!" interpretation flooding the various fansites after I retweeted the original tweet. I guess I sometimes forget that not everybody can read Japanese.

The Toriko manga wasn't even in the top 30 a few months ago. Apologies if that changed.
Re: Dragon Ball and One Piece sharing panel at Jump Festa?
That's misleading. A series will do better if it has more volumes released that year or if people are still getting caught up with the manga, and it will do worse if it has less volumes released that year or if people are already caught up with the manga, among other factors.Doctor. wrote:The Toriko manga wasn't even in the top 30 a few months ago. What matters most are the total sales per volume and total lifetime sales. Toriko sales around 400.000 or half a million per volume that gets released (those numbers will continue to increase as time goes by and new fans buy it, though). Those are good numbers. Not amazing, mind you, but good. Doesn't compare to naruto or something like that, but even naruto only sells about slightly more than double what Toriko sells, it doesn't sell 5 times more or something like that (and naruto is one of the best selling).

Re: Dragon Ball and One Piece sharing panel at Jump Festa?
I just realized that sharing a panel with One Piece means that Greg will almost(?) certainly see the panel so chances of well-translated info as to what goes down in this DB/OP panel are actually pretty high. (Has Julian or Kei made it to past DB panels at Jump Festa? I don't recall. ^^; )

At this point, I frankly wouldn't be surprised if Greg were part of the panel, considering how much of an insider he's gotten to be these days.Chuquita wrote:I just realized that sharing a panel with One Piece means that Greg will almost(?) certainly see the panel so chances of well-translated info as to what goes down in this DB/OP panel are actually pretty high. Doubt I'll be at Jump Festa, though. It's quite the hike for someone with two young children, unless we happen to be in the area for Disney or something.

Re: Dragon Ball and One Piece sharing panel at Jump Festa?
Greg has met Masako Nozawa and performed magic tricks for Eiichiro Oda, I would definitely not be surprised if he was a guest on the panel. X3
(In fact, I would not be surprised if Greg knows the title of DB15 movie already.)
Speaking of, Nozawa is definitely going to be at the Jump Festa panel: http://onepiecepodcast.com/2014/10/27/j ... -unveiled/
You know, I really am okay with DB sharing a panel with OP; it really ups the chances of news quickly appearing regarding the panel.

I'm still surprised that we will get a second DBZ movie before a new One Piece one.
This movie will come one year earlier that I was expecting. Nothing against it.
December will be a grea month!!

A world without Dragon Ball is just meh.

Decided to check and see what time this panel takes place from my east coast timezone; got 2:40am-3:20am, which is late, but doable when it comes to checking for any live updates (but most likely nothing will appear before I have to go to sleep that night and I'll just see it in the morning. ^^; ).
