Viz Bigs or 3-in-1s?

Been getting both (Volume 1-4 of Vizbig Dragon Ball and Vol 4 of Z coming soon)

I like both of them but I'm getting the Vizbigs to read ahead because 3-in-1's are taking forever to come out. But I'm torn because I don't know which I like best and I think owning almost the identical release twice is a waste of space *I'm low of shelving space because I share a room*.

So far this is what I have thought up

VizBigs:
Pros:
Large pages
High quality printing
Some color pages

Cons:
Very heavy to read and a little hard to hold
Breaks after Piccolo Goku fight (making it really large)
Cover starts to separate often (but not too bad it taken care of)
Not all color pages (lower quality black and white art)


3-in-1s
Pros:
Regular Viz manga size
Easier to read and hold (lighter weight)
All black and white (the "color" pages are really sharp compared to the single volume counterparts)
All volumes are 3-in-1 (see 2nd pro)
Better cover art and spine art (kinda cheater here)

Cons:
Occasional misprints (So far ink splatters or missing title pages)
Thinner paper (Makes it lighter but you can see through them *not really a problem with me but the Vizbigs win on this)
Softer covers (Can be damages easier when storing or shipping *I'm looking at you Amazon*)

Thats all I can think of lol. It's not costing much to get these so pricing is not really a factor.

When the 3-in-1's are finished I will probably sell off either or

The only redeeming quality the 3-in-1's have to me are the Kanzenban covers (which infuriates me to no end).

The only good thing I see in the 3 in 1s is that they are uncensored, for the most part. Other than that I don't see how they can be any better than the Viz Bigs.

I'm figuring I can finish off the Vizbigs and sell them when the 3-in-1s are done..or I can sell the 3-in-1 and finish the viz bigs. I haven't read anything past Freeza so I'm not sure how blatant the censoring is. Are there any examples? For some reason I'm leaning towards the 3-in-1s lol

Viz Bigs unless 3-in-1's are fully uncut so if they are then go with that. I actually like the big size and I love color pages, but I wish they were more of them. The chances of getting a kanzenben is slim so Viz Big might be the best we can get.

They added things like bras and bubbles to cover up naked women breasts (its nicely done, you wouldn't tell its not original), removed the rude gesture of "flipping the bird" by making the character that was doing it extend another finger or just a closed fist (this is kind of troublesome because it actually removes some context from the scene), they blackened out Mr. Popo's lips, they censored Gohan's penis in DBZ, they removed 17's gun to look like he killed an old man with his fist instead of using his gun (it removes some context), and the weapons from the bandits in the Buu saga are slightly altered to look less realistic and more sci-fi-like (you wouldn't be able to tell its not original). That's it, all the rest is the same. If we don't count the panels with Mr. Popo, what they changed in 42 volumes is just a few panels, most of them without losing any context.

By a HUGE margin, the largest amount of altered panels in the Vizbigs are the panels with Mr. Popo. So, if the 3-in-1s censor Mr. Popo and the couple of panels with Gohan, then there's a small amount of difference between the 3-in-1s and the Vizbigs regarding the number of altered panels.

That is true. I think VIZ is being a little lazy with these 3-in-1s. Popo will never be uncensored and I wonder about the guns but we'll see.

3-in-1s are easyer to hold and read though...it's a though choice for me lol

At somepoint I might get the VIZ US Comic *manga style* editions and omnibus those for an actual uncensored version till Freeza
