And I really do want an update this month. My hopes just aren't as high as before the VJump leaks.
There's always Weekly Jump though. That leaks consistently on Wednesdays, sometimes even Tuesdays.
I still check the official DB15 site for updates too. That's one thing BOG's site had done by this time two years ago.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I just noticed that Hamano Yuu'ichi (AMV of his work here) has not provided much in the way of key animation lately. In fact, near as I can tell he has had no credits at all since Happiness Charge PreCure Episode #30 (31 August 2014). Before that Hamano's last credit was key animation for Episode #22 (29 June 2014) and before that, Episode #11 (13 April 2014). This leads me to two possibilities: Hamano Yuu'ich either provided a large number of cuts for Eiga HappinessCharge PreCure! Nin'gyou no kuni no Ballerina (11 October 2014) or he is acting as an animation supervisor for the 2015 Dragon Ball Z film, as he did for Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami. It would also be interesting if perhaps he was acting as a character designer for the film. Who knows. It would be nice if Hamano was turning in a high number of cuts for this upcoming 2015 film so that there would be a higher degree of interesting cuts. Too many cuts for the previous film were provided by less than stellar key animators.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Those were really nice cuts! Good use of angles/positioning the "camera" to make things more interesting/engaging. I'd like to see this work on DB15.

V jump will be released November 21 and another jump that i don't remember it's name in early December.MCDaveG wrote:What are the Jump magazines, that will be released soon and when?

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Saikyou Jump is every 2 months, next one should be December 3rd or 4th.
VJump is every month on the 21st unless the 21st falls on a weekend, then it's either the 19th or 20th.
Weekly Jump is every Monday, but leaks for Weekly usually appear the Tuesday or Wednesday before the issue's street date.
Leaks for Saikyou and VJump are rarer than for Weekly; I attribute that to them not being as popular as Weekly Jump. Also Saikyou's got a younger target audience and VJump is mostly a videogame magazine.

I think November will be the month of new information for this movie.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Shida Naotoshi is returning to work on PreCure tomorrow with a layout. After the layout phase comes key animation, so for the foreseeable future he shall be busy there. If Shida does work on the 2015 Dragon Ball Z film then it would appear he will once again do his cuts in November, at the earliest.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Thoughts on this:
It's been a really strange year for Precure. The movie looks like it's been favored over the weekly series unlike past seasons where there'd be a little more love for the series animation. Shida will benefit the series.
That said, I really hope they can get him on DB15 too.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
My Tate Naoki theory is beginning to go down in flames, I think. He was once again one of two animation supervisors for Disk Wars: Avengers Episode #30. Shida Naotoshi also provided key animation for the third consecutive episode.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
That is disappointing. T_T
As is the fact that we've gone 13 weeks now without any new information. An entire regular-season weekly anime could start and end within that time frame. That's only two weeks shy of an entire college semester.
I want better character designs for this movie. I want more fluid, better-skilled key animators on it. The animation on BOG was my biggest beef with it. I mean, there were some good parts of animation, but it still didn't feel like Toei's A-game that I've seen in some of their OP and Precure stuff. (Speaking of, WOW on the budget-bump the HaCha movie looks to have; ah but it makes the series' animation look even poorer by comparison. ^^;; )
I did watch some of that Disc Wars: Avengers; if it didn't have the "and the kids" gimmick, I may have watched more, but I never did like that gimmick. Same reason I'm not fond of Heroes outside hilarious design choices like green oozaru Brolli who keeps his hairstyle and clothes somehow as that gave me a laugh.

The kids are no worse than the kids in Dragon Ball. Heck, they're just as much if not more fun than the heroes.Chuquita wrote:I did watch some of that Disc Wars: Avengers; if it didn't have the "and the kids" gimmick, I may have watched more, but I never did like that gimmick. Yeah, I think the main cast have grown on me after I stuck it out after initially scoffing at it - but hell, I even quite enjoy Majin Bone now, too - so my positive opinions on the two can therefore be disregarded due to utter indoctrination.JulieYBM wrote:The kids are no worse than the kids in Dragon Ball. In regard to the working commitments of Toei's best talent, the take away message seems to be that it's evidently clear where their corporate priorities lie: with Anime projects that tie-in with and advertise real world merchandise.
Dragonball is their evergreen fruit-bearing tree that they want to endlessly farm but feel they can take risks with the production of. They know that the film will perform well regardless, especially in regard to the overseas market, and the cost of rehiring the established voice acting talent alone probably means they're cutting corners elsewhere to balance the books and keep the project on as close to a shoestring budget as possible. Toei are, after all, the industry specialists in cutting corners wherever possible so long as they can still deliver a tangible, salable product in the end.

When it comes to animation, I'm not expecting anything worse than BOG. Same level or better.
That's not even a question.

I dunno, it's not hugely out of place given the fact that Saiyans have an elongated youthful phase to their childhood. Keep in mind that Goku is a similar age at the start of the Manga, and he's just as young looking.FortuneSSJ wrote:When it comes to animation, I'm not expecting anything worse than BOG. Thats true. But Goku is taller in 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai compared to the beginning. We can use Gohan as example too.Blade wrote: I dunno, it's not hugely out of place given the fact that Saiyans have an elongated youthful phase to their childhood.
BOG takes like 5 years after Buu arc and Goten and Trunks look exactly the same. We can say they grew up mentally, since they are already interested in girls but that's it.
And since we already know their looks 10 years after Buu arc, it's strange they grew up that much in 5 years.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Goku grew a lot in 3 years, but if this is post BoG (especially if it's a few years after) I'm expecting to see some changes in their appearance, even if they're just a bit taller.
