How Does Broli Remember Goku's Appearance/Name?

I've always wondered this about the Broli movies. Broli's deep obsession over Goku because he kept him from sleeping as an infant, and not to mention being stabbed by King Vegeta shortly after. But my question is; how does Broli even remember how Goku looks like, let alone his name? As far as I know, Broli never even looked at Goku. And even if he did, I doubt he would remember a face during infancy.

My answer: Movie logic. Wouldn't even waste time trying to wrap my brain around it.

Eh, I'll give it a try. Maybe it wasn't just his appearance, but his presence, if Broly can detect Ki that is, is what sets him off. A familiar aura that brings him discomfort. Still couldn't think of a reason he'd remember "Kakarotto".

I have been asking this question since I first watched the movie and I still don't get it .

People are known to have at least one or two distinct memories in early childhood. It's incredibly contrived, but plausible.

I've seen people theorize that Saiyans just remember some things from their very early childhood more clearly than humans do, so while (for example) my first clear memories aren't until I was 3, Broly has clear memories of his very first year of life... when that baby next to him was crying all the time and his parents called him "Kakarrot" when they brought him into the place where Saiyans apparently keep all their babies.

Of course, seeing Dragonball Minus depicting the Goku who was sent to Earth as a young child in armor rather than a newborn infant, maybe a slight adjustment to the Broly movies' timeline could make things make a lot more sense. I know some people remember a few things from that age, so I could definitely see a 2-year-old Broly remembering another kid that cried and kept him awake all the time more clearly than a newborn would, without any weird super-memory required.

He doesn't remember his face, just his presence/maybe ki, or maybe he doesn't remember him at all nor does he understand why Goku makes him uncomfortable; it was just something programmed into him from when he was a fragile baby and suffered his annoying screams.

As for the name, Paragus and Vegeta was calling Goku by his saiyan name, and Broly just took and stuck to it.

Now try to fit King Vegeta's murderous rage into that timeline- either we consider that Brolly's wasn't born with that power level or he spend three years lying bleeding and unconscious on pile of trash or Vegeta Sr. decided to play a gardener and cut all tall poppies. BTW my suspension of disbelief bears babies having super memory but not seemingly genius king who in the wake of war murders potential ace up in his sleeve.

I totally buy "baby Sayians supermemory" theory- in regular timeline Raditz expected Goku to remember not only his name, but also family, culture and moral compass.

Why do fans keep insisting that Broly is obsessed with Goku because he prevented from sleeping...? The movie goes out of its way to state that Goku was born on the same day as Broly, on the same day that the fated legendary super saiyan appears, and its fairly clear that Goku disturbing Broly from his sleep as a baby is simply a metaphor for Goku's ability to be a huge problem to Broly despite their power level differences.

All this and more stuff in the movie indicates that Goku is a direct and fated rival to Broly, and Broly simply instinctively recognizes Goku as such a rival and that gives him pause. That's all.

Why fans decide to interpret the movie in the most simplistic way possible, assuming that Broly hates Goku because he disturbed his sleep as a baby or went mad because of it, instead of thinking about it a little more and realizing what I stated, is something I truly don't understand...

Kind of, since the legend states that he is born once every 1000 years. So, that was the day. And Goku, who is also born on that day, not only is the first to become SSJ besides Broly in who knows how long, but he manages to beat Freeza, and eventually Broly. It seems clear that there are some undertones going on the movie for Goku to be a rival to Broly and his title as the legendary super saiyan and that's what Broly instinctively recognizes. And he was right to recognize him as his rival since he actually managed to beat him.

In fact, it could be argued by the end of the movie that Goku, despite not having Broly's freakish green power level, was the actual and real legendary super saiyan, the saiyan who manages to overcome every opponent, even when they have the advantage in power at first.

The movie assumes that the legendary super saiyan is something different, a person. The most obvious interpretation is that its Broly, which is obviously kind of different from the other super saiyans. However, given what I said, we could even interpret it as that person being Goku, given all his achievements and his ability to surpass every opponent one way or another, including freak of nature Broly.

I think the answer is obvious. Broly is a super genius, how else do you think he became so powerful while being restrained? Mind over matter and all that. I bet he has like 12 space degrees with space honors from some really good space schools. That is what the legend really was... A Saiyan with super intelligence, Gohan was a smart kid and he was really strong, or Bardock, he was a Super Saiyan before any of them and he was totally a brilliant scientist.
