Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
If this movie does take place 3 years after the events of Battle of Gods wouldn't that contradict the manga because Bulma states that it's been 5 years since she's seen Goku and company, which easily could be the events of BOG?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
She just says she didnt saw Goku for 5 years. The two can still appear in the same movie and not meet each other. Happened a couple of times (Movie 4, Movie 8, Movie 9...).SaiyanBaller22 wrote:If this movie does take place 3 years after the events of Battle of Gods wouldn't that contradict the manga because Bulma states that it's been 5 years since she's seen Goku and company, which easily could be the events of BOG?
They didn't meet in Namek either.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Would that really be a terrible thing? The idea of continuity is to strengthen a story, not hinder it.SaiyanBaller22 wrote:If this movie does take place 3 years after the events of Battle of Gods wouldn't that contradict the manga because Bulma states that it's been 5 years since she's seen Goku and company, which easily could be the events of BOG?

I also don't mind the possible contradictions. I've wanted new plot stuff forever and never thought I'd get it, plus I've enjoyed things so far. I want to see where this goes.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Maybe we shouldn't want any info, other then the title of the movie, as that would mean they finished it up quickly, and didn't spend much time on it, or am I wrong? hmmm[/list]
What was are first real info on BoG other then the first teaser trailer again?

If only there was website with a tag feature that made these things easy to research.Retan wrote:What was are first real info on BoG other then the first teaser trailer again?

How did that link help me with my question?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
First real info on BOG? November 2012 VJump, if I recall correctly (that's where the poster first appeared, I think.) October 2012's only had a blurb saying that there'd be more info coming soon.
This movie releases a month later than BOG, but I can't imagine they'd wait till December's VJump and miss out on hyping it at Jump Festa.

What kind of info did they reveal in November 2012 VJump, so I can know what we might be able to expect when possibly VJump does reveal something?
Sorry Chuquita misread your post, but the poster would indeed be good for discussion!

Not at all, 'cause I typed the wrong link. Here is the proper link. Begin at the end and work your way through to understand the chronology of the news.Retan wrote:How did that link help me with my question?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
November was the movie's poster. The title.
Maybe a tagline?

I do. The most important thing is entertainment but we're not talking about weekly manga chapters/anime episodes release. They have time to create a good script without do more plotholes.Chuquita wrote:I also don't mind the possible contradictions. True, I wouldn't want anything too outlandishly glaring (looking at your ages, Marron, Trunks, and Goten). I want to see older Goten and his not-Gokû haircut. I feel the main reason we didn't get it was because they need someone to fill the little kid role (there is never a time in the story outside of Future Trunks back story where we don't have a tiny kid character on the main cast.).

I'm excited. Please be awesome, November.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
You know, I'm beginning to wonder how indicative this early promotional material is of the final film. Everything seems fairly serious this time, with a darker colour scheme and words like "despair" being thrown around. Even Toriyama's saying he's increased the amount of action for this outing. Our previous experience with the last film suggests that it shouldn't really be taken as any indication of what the movie will be like, but with BOG's early promotional material, it was very much about celebrating the fact that DBZ was back on the big screen however, this time around they're already tossing out a (seemingly) major plot-point. Probably reading into things too early, but I can't help but find these early tidbits fascinating. By the way, I was certain that I read Toriyama saying that the contents of this film would be "super hilarious", or something to that effect, but I can't for the life of me, find it. Maybe I'm making that one up, or I'm getting it confused with BOG comments.
Actually, speaking of which, I do wonder how long they want to continue the mystery surrounding the whole, "There’s someone I want you to revive..." Will it be like Super Saiyan God where it's not revealed until quite late on, or will we find out the moment we see the poster? It might seem odd to tease this sort of thing so early on when they don't plan to reveal it for some time, but if you recall, we didn't fully understand the whole 'God and God' thing until we heard about the new transformation.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
The only thing bothers me is... These 10 years were said to be more or less peaceful, why a story of despair now? I do not see why everybody wants to exclude a story after Uub's appearance, even if Toriyama said that almost everyone were on their top in BOG... That was for BOG, Goku and some others can also become more potent as Beerus already said. BOG was more or less a promotional movie for the entire franchise, so even if some of out heroes can not fight enough well, they still could have been useful.

He really said something like that about this one. Seems like we will have a better mix between comedy and action.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote: I was certain that I read Toriyama saying that the contents of this film would be "super hilarious", or something to that effect, but I can't for the life of me, find it. It was something mistranslated by ANN.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote: I was certain that I read Toriyama saying that the contents of this film would be "super hilarious", or something to that effect, but I can't for the life of me, find it. This is all that's known about the movie :
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2014/07/25/dr ... vie-facts/
And this is what Toriyama said about it :
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2014/07/15/v- ... velopment/
They or some other site also said that he wanted to tell the story in the manga and that doesn't count all the other lies that are going on like Goku turning evil so whatever else you find if it's not in the 2 links above then it's not true until said otherwise.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
It makes me wish ANN had better translators, because they almost certainly will get VJump leaks before the release date.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I hope this revived character is someone "new" (new to the franchise, that is--maybe some ancient villain?). Otherwise, it will risk coming across as a rehash of prior content (Movie 13 and GT's Super #17 arc). Though if it is an established baddie, it would need to be done really well and executed in a novel way. I'd also like to see Vegeta reach a new (canon) stage, whether that be SSJ3 or God.
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!
