Goku's victories never were entirely his, everytime the victory was of the whole cast including Bulma, only that Goku was the one to finish all the battles in a perfect shine.Bullza wrote:You do realize that Goku like Vegeta in all of Toriyama's Z only had 1 big victory right ?
He had two, Freeza and Buu. It was still Goku's technique and effort that allowed him to defeat Buu, him using other peoples energy is besides the point because that's the purpose of the spirit bomb.
He had a shared win against Raditz, defeated Nappa and the Ginyu Force. He put up a worthwhile fight against Cell, Buu and Beerus who all stomped Vegeta. He also saved the world from Vegeta, Cell and Beerus so is not useless.
Vegeta on the other hand is an arrogant smack talker who acts full of himself whose biggest victory is against Android 19.

Vegeta's biggest victory is against Android 19.
Goku,Vegeta,Buu,Satan and the people of earth all had a major role in Buu's defeat and with out one or more Buu would not have been defeated which is an undeniable fact.
We aren't talking about small wins which Vegeta also has and in terms of the Ginyu Force Goku only defeated 2 while Vegeta defeated 2 while ginyu was defeated by his own hands and was forced to that by Goku&Vegeta.
He didn't do that much better against Buu and in terms of Beerus Goku couldn't touch him in Ssj3 while Vegeta did that and more in Ssj2 and if Vegeta was the one to get Ssjg he would have put up as good or better of a fight.
Goku saved the world from Vegeta ? Last time i saw the fight every bone in his body was broken way before Vegeta was defeated.
Did you forget about his victory against Goku ?

It's officially November. VJump comes out in 3 weeks.
It's a shame Saikyou went bi-monthly; that would've been out on Monday otherwise. TuT
Not that I thought Saikyou was going to have news in it; it'll be VJump if anything.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
And Buu. Goku was the one to defeat Buu regardless of help, most major villains are defeated with the help of others. Even if it was considered a shared win it is still largely Goku as to why they won.He only had one and that was against Freeza.
We aren't talking about small wins which Vegeta also has
Vegeta's biggest wins are only small wins compared to Goku.
and in terms of the Ginyu Force Goku only defeated 2 while Vegeta defeated 2 while ginyu was defeated by his own hands and was forced to that by Goku&Vegeta.
Goku defeated both Recoom and Burter, Jeice fled which also counts as defeat. Goku showed his superiority to Ginyu which also counts as a victory in a way. Vegeta beat Guldo who again was the weakest of the group by a sneak attack and beat Jeice which was no longer anything special after Goku had already done it before him.
He didn't do that much better against Buu
He was putting up an equal fight while Vegeta was just struggling to stay alive for just a fe minutes.
in terms of Beerus Goku couldn't touch him in Ssj3 while Vegeta did that and more in Ssj2 and if Vegeta was the one to get Ssjg he would have put up as good or better of a fight.
Still the end result was that Vegeta snapped and still barely did a thing, he didn't get to keep that power anyway. Goku was again the one who put up the good fight and saved the world while Vegeta was watching in awe. There's no saying Vegeta would have been able to do the same if he were a SSJ God because Goku was something special or a genius that allowed him to bring out that power a second time to stop Beerus' attack. Vegeta may not have been able to do that.
Goku saved the world from Vegeta?
Of course he stopped him from blowing up the planet with the Galick Gun.
Did you forget about his victory against Goku?
That doesn't count because he was a main villain at the time.

These random back-and-forths have virtually nothing to do with the upcoming film at this point. Please take your conversations to another, more-appropriate place.

Shueisha seems to have put the majority of its focus on Shokugeki no Souma this week, so I wouldn't expect any news to be released until next weekend or the weekend after that. Mid-to-late November should definitely be our next update, though.

No it wasn't. Beerus is a 10 while Goku is a 6. For comparison Whis is a 15 while Beerus is a 10 and he was capable of taking Beerus is out with a simple chop. Goku isn't closing a gap like that in 3 years.Low Tone G wrote:Beeerus as Goku's rival issue:
No, I'm almost sure that Beerus will be no threat for Goku in the next movie if he continues to train (if Beerus will show up somehow). The gap almost was closed when Goku transformed into SSJ-God for the second time, if was able to overwhelm Beerus 70% power, and he must do that otherwise he couldn't absorb the attack. He got his Zenkai, Goku can become at least 30-40% stronger in 3 years(if Beerus will wake up).
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
We're talking about Goku here. He's as strong as Toriyama wants him to be. If he feels Goku should be at the same level as Beerus, or stronger, than he will be, regardless if that makes sense or not.Birusu16 wrote:No it wasn't. Beerus is a 10 while Goku is a 6. That would not make sense if Goku won't surpass Beerus(at least) if it was confirmed by Beerus that Goku didn't tap his best as a God yet.Doctor. wrote:We're talking about Goku here. Anyone think we're gonna have a dual-language title again, or just one? And if one do you think it'll be in English (because of the international popularity) or Japanese (it is advertised as being released on Golden Week, which is a Japan only set of holidays as far as I know).

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Well, it's now November. Two years ago this month, we got a name for the 2013 film, some information about the plot, and even the first piece of Battle of Gods merchandise: the Collaboration Ticket between BoG and One Piece Film: Z, going on sale less than two weeks after its announcement, on 23 November. (I remember that day well, since I got up ass-early, on a holiday, to get myself to the train station, in the rain, to go stand in line at the movie theater for three hours, to get this mystical ticket. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I actually met Peking Duck, too.)
There's no One Piece film coming out this winter, but there is, conveniently enough, a Naruto movie coming our way in December. Dare they try to do a tie-in like they did with One Piece two years ago...?

Did not know about the train, or the rain, or the holiday. O_O
I'm so anxious for a news update. I almost thought we had one when I saw you'd posted.
Re: Naruto
It would be interesting to see art-wise what the ticket would look like. Only thing keeping me from thinking they'll definitely do it is there's a different studio (Pierrot) working on the Naruto anime whereas DB and OP share Toei.

What was the budget BoG had? Do you think this film's going to have a higher or lower one? It's sad to think that on-going anime like Fate/Stay Night 2014 have better looking episodes than BoG :/

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
If they want the animation to be alright(I mean if the whole movie will be at least like the fighting part - Beerus vs SSJ-God(SSJ) Goku - of BOG) then the story is that good as Toriyama promised, this movie should have higher budged, especially when they earned very much with BOG eariler.Doctor. wrote:What was the budget BoG had? The average Japanese animated series episode is between $100,000-300,000 an episode. A two cours (twenty-six episodes) animated series costs about $3,850,000, which works out to about $150,000 per episode, assuming each episode has about five thousand sheets. A Bones series used about $90,000 per episode, which is apparently not uncommon. Toei Animation employs about three-to-four thousand drawings per episode, although that figure sticks closer to three thousand per episode.Doctor. wrote:What was the budget BoG had? Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann used $180,00-200,000 per episode. Mind you, most episodes of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann had better episode directors and key animators working on them than Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami and could thus make less money go further...or more money go even further than that. The only animator in the aforementioned film who was allowed to go all-out was Shida Naotoshi. Because the theatrical cut of Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami was only eighty-five minutes long--cut down from a two hour storyboard--I can believe that the film cost about $500,000. The film production was pretty rushed, so I wouldn't be surprised if that added to the budget, too. Chief Animation Supervisor Yamamuro Tadayoshi has pretty bad designs, the majority of the key animators on the film were weak, and there were six animation supervisors used to clean up the key animation that had to be quickly drawn. My guess is that the film had a budget of no more than $1,000,000 USD. The fact that it made almost $30,000,000 in Japanese theaters gives it quite a large profit, especially once international gross and the Japanese Blu-ray and DVD figures are factored in.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
So we can most likely expect a higher budget for next year's film, correct?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I doubt it, to be honest. They hired a guy with no prior directing credits to direct the film and near as we can tell it hasn't even begun the animation process. Even it had started sometime earlier in the year it still would have been in the middle of Toei Animation producing seven shows and with their best key animators busy working on other series. Oonishi Ryou has given his entire attention to Majin Bone and Shida Naotoshi his entire attention to Disk Wars: Avengers, so unless Yamamuro Tadayoshi is friends with some otherwise talented freelancers I have to doubt this will turn out great, unless all of the good in-house animators at Toei suddenly start working exclusively on the film within the next two or three months. With HappinessCharge PreCure ending soon I have to doubt we'll see that, though.Doctor. wrote:So we can most likely expect a higher budget for next year's film, correct?
The movie could have a $5,000,000 budget but it wouldn't mean squat if the film doesn't have talented animators to make use of that money.
