So, I think they got rid of the flash type image on the cover art...

Yes and no. If this game ends up not being able to customize items or abilities, it is definitely very limited. How about combos? Sparking! did a poor job in that part. Have you seen some of the combos performed in Budokai 3? You can basically keep chaining your attacks for an unlimited of times by using different button combinations if the enemy doesn't counter with teleportation. But if you watch this new video, it is very clear that Vegeta was doing unlimited combos until he killed Boo. Let's talk about ping-ponging opponents. It seems like Budokai3 has its limitation of 3 ping-pongings regardless of the amount of ki you have left. But in Sparking! NEO, you can do unlimited ping-pongs as long as you're in "Sparking!/Max Power" mode. Is it more limited in the Dragon Adventure mode? It doesn't seem likely. And from listening to Peking Duck's ripped audio files of what-ifs scenarios, there are bound to be very interesting what-ifs. Plus now we can select any stage with a particular BGM, versus Budokai 3's which sets certain BGM to each stage. Lastly, 3D fighting in HUGE-ASS battlefields with destructible objects.NECPS wrote:This game seems more limited than Budokai 3.
I don't know, man. It seems like this is actually more expansive than Budokai 3, minus the customizable parts. There are actually a lot more I can think of that's a lot more flexible in this game, and I'm not going to discuss the roster list. This game would do very well even without movie characters. I take back what said at the beginning; this game has less limitation in many category. Let's hope your statement will not stand true about the customization portion of the game. (No offense.)
Edit- One really good reason to have customizable abilities: Hello!? Story mode!? We wouldn't want what Sparking! had to offer last year! Kaio-ken and Genki-dama while fighting Raditz? Kakusanyudakodan/Hellzone Grenade while fighting Raditz? Shin Kikoho from the beginning? These abilities had better be off of the movelist during the Saiyan Saga because it just doesn't make sense to have them from the beginning of the story mode.

Ouch! Tough crowd, huh? Not nearly as good as I thought they would rate it. It should be somewhere in the 30's. Do you know how Famitsu rate games? It seems like 8 / 8 / 7 / 6 is a list of category. Do you know what they are?Timo wrote:Famitsu rating!

Ahh...Individual scores. Totally biased, but I'm going with the two who scored it 8.Timo wrote:Each writer gives his own rating for the generally game.
So there were two writers who gave 8, one 7 and the last 6.
It's a question of taste for each writer and not a generally rating.
I hope my post was clear... ^.-
Here comes more new videos:
Vegeta's long combo.
Normal fight.
Tullece takes a bite out of the Fruit.
Is it just me, or is this came starting to emulate some past DBZ games? World map from DBZ RPG for Super Famicom, around-and-around combo from DBZ: Legends, ping-pongs from Budokai 3, and many more.
Edit- I do hope the CPU level of the final product will be much stronger than what we have been watching so far. Such easy opponents would bore me pretty quickly.

I had thought Sparking neo would get around 34-35 /40, or something like that, honestly.kvon wrote:Ahh...Individual scores. Totally biased, but I'm going with the two who scored it 8.Timo wrote:Each writer gives his own rating for the generally game.

To get more on topic, i so agree with you. I hope that the computers can be set to a hard difficulity. They just sucked in those videos. I hope the computers in those videos was either set on "easy" difficulity or the player was an expert.

Interesting to see Tur1es fight. I wish Vegeta'd been set at a more difficult level so I could see what happens when you have to get creative against your opponet, but still I'm happy to see him.
I really thought he had lower armor all around the way Vegeta had. Has it really been that long since I saw Movie 3?

On hiatus.
That 50+hit Vegeta combo was insane...kvon wrote:Ahh...Individual scores. Totally biased, but I'm going with the two who scored it 8.Timo wrote:Each writer gives his own rating for the generally game.

And Famitsu is a notoriously harsh magazine, so it by all respects is a very decent game.

Yeah, I only get around the word filter when I want make comparisons with the original name, or just simply making fun of FUNimation.Deus ex Machina wrote:Please don't go around the word filter Chuquita, it's there for a reason.Chuquita wrote:Interesting to see Tur1es fight.
I've been hearing rumors that certain gaming sites and/or magazines are stating that there's still one character left to be confirmed, any word on this?
Personally, I think this is bogus. Most of the websites I've been to is saying 130 characters this, 130 characters that. In conclusion, they would say that there's one more character. I would be happy if they have characters that has not been shown heretofor.

*Ahem*Deus ex Machina wrote:Spike is counting transformations as seperate characters (hence how they got to 129), so on the very slim chance that there is one last "secret character", it would have to be one with no transformations. Will this be the year we get Bulma?
I kinda hope there will be one last secret character to finish the 130 set.
...
Not Bulma, though.
...
Who should be in this game?
...
Wait for it...
...
Piccolo Freakin' Daimao!
*Gah*
