All right guys. Today, as I wait for some of my orders, I went to my friend's house. He used to be into Dragonball, he has some DVDs, but he thinks it's gay now. We're on the computer, and I opened one if his cabinets (lol). My jaw dropped and my eyes got watery when I saw something that I have never seen before. I asked him what it was. He said it was a cel he bought a few years ago when he visited Japan (didn't get into specifics), and he remembered the character from the DBZ OVA on the Internet. I asked him if I could have it, and he said no. I pulled out ten bucks, and he said "take it".

And now my friends, I have this in my collection:

NOT ANYMORE.

 I know it is amazing. Now to show all my friends!

Also, I must ask something. Why the hell are there some colour strips at the bottom of some Daizenshuu's? Are they removable?

Both links worked fine for me. o.o

fps_anth, nice job on getting the cel. So did he take the $10 or just give it to you for free after making the offer? :P

As for the Daizenshuu, I believe those are simply just strips that came wrapped around the books. None of mine came with them as they were used, so I would assume they came with new copies.

Those strips are called 'obis'.
It's just a little slice of japanese add-on.

Wasn't able to see your cell...but I can assume that it's from the playdia footage...
Congratulations on getting that you lucky bastard!

Also, I officially hate my friend. He seemed to REALLY like Dragon Ball, cause he has TONS of Dragon Ball crap. When he went to Japan, he said he spent over $600 on Dragonball. $300 was spent on this

I agree with your friend. I'd much rather have that movie 7 3-pack mint in package than the cel. That's the only way to get a Super Saiya-jin Trunks out of the Super Battle Collection line. In fact that whole package is probably worth a couple hundred dollars or more.

Wow, fps_anth, props for getting some cool stuff from an ex-fan. Also, yeah, that Movie 7 3-pack is the only way to get a decent official SSJ Trunks figure. It's not disgustingly shiny and everything's actually in proportion :).

Might I suggest pushing a little harder to get some more DB stuff?

Lol, have you checked?

How was that figure a promotion for movie 7? Was it given out or sold only at the Anime festivals in which the movies were shown?

There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

EDIT: I went to my friends house again today and checked out his old collection. I was talking to him about Dragon Ball all day(trying to get him back into it ) and asked him how much he spent on his collection. He tells me that he spend at least $10 000 CAD on his collection (he's fucking rich btw).

Wow, that just sounds so made up. And what the hell are you talking about here...
he asks me if new stuff has been released in the world of DB merchandise since 2001, and I told him I will if you give me something. He agrees (after some arguing) and I ask for this: (btw I bring my camera to his house now XD)
Sounds like some bull shit.

No it was sold in stores like normal I believe except there was just a limited number of them. It was put out about the same time movie 7 was to "celebrate" the three Super Saiya-Jins in the film since ya know the film was titled "Extreme Battle!! The Three Great Super Saiyans" in Japan.

I only know this because about 4 years ago was really into collecting DBZ figures and frequented dragonballtoys.com a lot. I think it's where I made my first forum appearance too.

All right, all right. I think I am gonna stop ripping my friend off :P But before I do, I just wanna let you guys know that I have converted a former hardcore fan into a fan. If he gets hardcore again, then he's probably gonna come into my house and want all his crap back (not for a low price at that  ).

However, my friend seems to over exagerate. He said that he stopped collecting in 2001, but he has Budokai 1 and 2 (Jap and NA)...yet no Dragonboxes. He doesn't even know what they are! Anyways, he somehow got himself a copy of Dragonball Z 2 V from a "friend" over Yahoo Auctions Japan. He only spent $100 CAD on it (ex. shipping and handling). So, I see that he has both the English and Japanese versions of Budokai 2 (and V2). I ask him "you have three budokai 2's, can I have one?" He says "just don't take the English one, I could give a rat's ass right now about Japanese stuff. But I got an expensive one over the internet, so wait up". I let him look, and I told him that you got Dragonball Z 2 for lots of money, and I told him that 2 V was the original one released in Japan. "It's like 20 bucks CAD on the Internet now".

Well my friends, I may see an ass beating in the future, but for now, I have something that I do not think you have: (webcam ftl)

I don't know how such a hardcore fan could forget this stuff (he's kinda "low" education wise acutally) but until he's crying at my doorstep for his stuff back, I have DRAGONBALL Z V 2!!!!! If he wants his crap back, I'm gonna need.....300 bucks? (he's rich remember) How's that guys?

(btw, theres better quality DBZ2V pics in the tidbits section of Daizex!)

:D :D :D

Well in comparison to other Trunks figures I've seen, yeah, it's definitely one of the better ones from the earlier DB merchandising days.

And yeah, I remember DragonballToys.com describing it as some kind of promo figure, since the JP title of the movie focused on the whole idea of there being three SSJs in the series as of then. Ah, the days of my DB SBC collecting...

Dude, I know what you mean. If I was you, I'd think it is bullshit too. But my friend is an IDIOT. He doesn't only have tons of DBZ stuff, he has like COMPLETE collections of yu-gi-oh and pokemon cards. Basically, if there is a fad, he goes money crazy. He lives in a mansion (pool, 3 floors etc.) and his dad has a sexy BMW. In other words, he grew up spoiled and has tons of shit. So when the topic of "giving away free stuff" comes up (even though me, you and probably the rest of these people on these forums) he doesn't really hesitate. He'll just give it away. If you think it is bullshit, again, I don't blame you. I wouldn't beleive me either if I was you :P But this kid is crazy. And I have a feeling that he is going to come to my house crying with money to get his stuff back in a few weeks (it has happened before with me ripping him off in yu-gi-oh).

Damn........I shouldn't get attached to this stuff  But I want too

I know. Unfortunately, my PS2 isn't reading discs right now, including the Action Replay (perfect, just for Sparking! NEO). Son_GokouSSJ4, would you by any chance actually know the true value of DBZ 2 V? If my friend there comes crawling back for his stuff, I want a good amount of money
