Yes it's another one of these "Appreciation Threads".
what I want to know is what do you think of this fused saiyan.
You make some good point's.MCDaveG wrote:Well, hands down. I don't think that Gogeta is underlooked.
He is a star of all the video games he is in and defines the term fusion usually in official works I saw.
What actually hurts him is that he's (not in character) a carbon copy of Gotenks and Toriyama himself later thought up an original fusion involving pair of earrings because of that.
But yeah, he was definitely badass in that movie. Didn't like him in GT much even as a kid. I was actually pissed off, that Goten and Trunks didn't do anything and when they offered Goku a fusion in Baby arc,
they've got direct f**k off from him, only to have Goku and Vegeta actually create adult Gotenks instead in the last arc.
And don't forget about Uub wanting to fuse, only to be rejected by Gohan for racist reasons.

I think if Toriyama would have written Gogeta he would have portrayed him the way he is in GT, because in the manga, fused characters are so extremely powerful that it makes them cocky and causes them to take their opponents lightly.SSJ God Gogeta wrote: I always love how he was depicted as a serious fighter, well that was until they made him act like a clown in GT...
Most likely.UpFromTheSkies wrote: I think if Toriyama would have written Gogeta, he would have portrayed him the way he is in GT, because in the manga fused characters are so extremely powerful that it makes them cocky, and causes them to take their opponents lightly.
Great minds think alike my friend.Ashelia wrote:I don't have an in depth reason like other probably will but I like him more than than other two fusions because of his SS4 design. He's the ultimate form of a true Super Saiyan God (aka SS4) in my head canon. I also just never liked the idea of Vegetto, Goku and Vegeta being stuck together forever just no >__<
Yep, pretty much.Hellspawn28 wrote:Pretty cool in Fusion Reborn, I wish he had more screen time. He sucked in GT since the show hype him up and he end up being a poor man's version of Vegito.
How does that even count? Sure, M12 Gogeta finished Janenba quickly, but GT Gogeta was an idiot. Same goes to Gotenks.SSJ God Gogeta wrote:He's the only fused character to truly defeat a villain, something these two never accomplished:
You basically summed it up,Vegito never defeated Buu.hleV wrote:How does that even count? Sure, M12 Gogeta finished Janenba quickly, but GT Gogeta was an idiot. Same goes to Gotenks.SSJ God Gogeta wrote:He's the only fused character to truly defeat a villain, something these two never accomplished:
Vegetto, though? He has proven to be able to easily destroy Boo. By an attack that apparently takes so little effort for him that it's not even a visible ki attack.
So, did Vegetto defeat Boo? No. Was he trying to defeat Boo? No.
Also Gogeta is ruined by the existance of Veku.
You make some good points.InfernalVegito wrote:To me Gogeta and Vegetto are essentially the same. Both are cool because they're the exotic characters that were only needed once and twice due to their almost infinite power. Also, I don't think that he wasn't true to his character in GT, or what this entails. He just fooled around because he could, he's a saiyajin after all and they can be cocky. Others would say he did that to tease Yi Xing Long to throw his Karma Ball at him and purify the Earth, but that's a little too far-fetched for my taste. Moreover, he didn't expect the fusion to end so early. Probably forgot what happened to Gotenks.
Anyway, his design is awesome, I love his red hair and blue eyes while SSJ4. And that dual-voice in general just oozes epicness!
I don't understand how does that matter or what does it prove. Please explain.SSJ God Gogeta wrote: But it still stands that Gogeta is the only fusion to defeat/kill a villain.
He's the only fusion in the series to do it.hleV wrote:I don't understand how does that matter or what does it prove. Please explain.SSJ God Gogeta wrote: But it still stands that Gogeta is the only fusion to defeat/kill a villain.
To be honest, not really... All he did was humiliate an upset Buu and let himself get absorbed, that's the short version of it.hleV wrote:Implying Vegetto had absolutely no contribution to the victory against Boo?

They really didn't need Vegito at all for that job, Gogeta would have been better for the task in hindsight.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
The whole point was that he wanted to get absorbed by Buu. So he could pull everyone out from inside him. Remember?SSJ God Gogeta wrote:To be honest, not really... Yeah, and you think Gogeta couldn't pull that off?Kamiccolo9 wrote: The whole point was that he wanted to get absorbed by Buu. So he could pull everyone out from inside him. Remember?
