I could totally see Freeza being split off from Cold and when both died they merged into F... or "Fridge" etc.

Perhaps that F was formerly in charge of Beerus. Afterall don't Beers go in a fridge?

Thats not a bad way of looking at things. Beerus did seem to hate Freeza from the getgo, so maybe something Freeza-releated happened in the past.

"The Resurrection of Freeza" sounds like a pretty cool title to me.

Next movie should be about Cell and then one for Majin Boo. ^_^

As much as I want to see Cell back and on the big screen I'm gonna have to say no.
I don't wan't them just bringing old villains back with power ups to fight the heroes just to lose at the end and get sent straight back to hell.
I want new characters.

But I would love to see God Cell get his revenge on Gohan by beating the living hell out of him.
I would pay good money to see that show.

the trunks special was somewhat dark, but just because there are characters dying doesn't mean its a dark movie.

dark aspects are things like senseless murder, extreme gore, mass slaughter( and no dragon balls to revive), no humour(impossible in a dbz movie)

Pretty much all those things were in the Trunks-special though. And the Bardock-special for that matter.

true, i only watched that special once. looking back it was pretty dark.
still this new movie shouldn't be dark. dbz isn't supposed to be for kids, but theres gunna be a lot of kids that watch that movie.

If Freeza becomes immortal then they could defeated him by using the Mafuba on him.

I would freaking love if Mafuba gets a mention, don't get me started with it getting used. That was the whole deal with Mutaito... he wasn't strong enough to defeat Piccolo (none of them could!) so he sealed him instead. It would be great if they are forced to go for such an old and "basic" technique to stop him.

You're misreading. The "friend introducing him to the band" happened some time ago.

He happened to listen to the song as he was thinking about ideas for a plot, but he actually saw the band perform (attending the concert with his daughter, if the concert he mentioned in the Battle of Gods anime comic is the same one) back in October 2012. (It's not clear whether Toriyama's friend introduced him to the bandmembers, or just the band's music, but the end result is the same.)

It would fit in well with the "despair" theme they're going for and they would have to find some way to revive them (since you they would be alive in the 28th TB), most likely going to Namek, also giving way for further movies.

I would be perfectly okay with the film ending with Tenshinhan coming in to save the day Mafuba-style. Or even better, Kamesennin. I guess the Mafuba-user would die, though. But this franchise is called Dragon Ball for a reason.

There's better ways to cause despair than death in the DB world. Death seems to get reversed so easily in this series; you'd need an utterly hopeless situation where the characters are powerless to do anything in order to create despair. I want to see some turmoil inflicted.

Gore makes movie dark? Not for me anyway. Humor? Actually it can make things much worse, when it was used as a part of "good times montage" or last resort from heroes to stay sane. I've always seen exposed blood, brains and intestines alone as a cheap trick that never worked for me. They can spice things up, but to make really dark piece of culture one must make sure that something was broken inside characters. You must start to root for them only to see them broken. See Berserk for example( Spoilers for first act)

While Eclipse was one of the worst blood feast I've seen in fiction at all, it wasn't about Apostoles devouring Band of Hawks. It was about the fact that they were summoned by guy for whom Hawks sacrificed everything. Who they trusted with their lives and souls, who made everyone feel important and loved but finally sacrificed all of them for his desire and feels no remorse for it.

If I was to see something similar in DBZ movies there would be flashback scenes from 8 movies. One hour of bloody battle? A-OK for me, pass the popcorn. Father pledging his loyalty to the king while tearfully begging him to spare his baby son only to be rewarded with execution? Oh, my eyes are getting wet.

If he was the only one who could stand up to Frieza then sure but you've got 3 others who can as well so i doubt Goku dying is what they're talking about.
