Ah, so Freeza gets to keep his empire and that's why Krillin is still active(possibly rebelling against Freeza's empire?) and Gohan is different(no ultimate eyes).
That would be an interesting spin, but it wouldn't sit well with me, that Shenlong could fuck so much with reality.

It doesn't sit that well with me either (because Shenlong doesn't seem like he could possibly be that powerful) but it's the most solid conclusion I have for now. Kuririn stopped growing his hair because he was finished with fighting; why would he choose to suddenly shave it off again. Gohan looks too different from where he was left off in BOG. Also Trunks and Goten are missing from the cover; they're almost-always there with everyone on ads like this. Maybe they don't exist in this new Freezaverse? Maybe Bulma and Vegeta aren't even together in the Freezaverse! Vegeta and Gokû will return to Earth and Bulma will never have had a relationship with Vegeta. Vegeta's entire family-life on Earth will be gone. He'll be shocked and angry and it'll make his attack on Freeza even more motivated.

Really? I actually think that's the best, most logical idea for this, and it's nice to think of Shenlong being used for something that's not "bring dude back to life." It would also explain why everyone looks so different. I'm hoping it's an alternate reality thing where Freeza wasn't defeated. Because, honestly, it's the only thing I can think of that doesn't make me dislike this entire premise. Bringing back Freeza? Repetitive. Using Shenlong to alter reality so Freeza was never defeated? I like that. Plus, based on Toriyama's recent added "tidbits" to the franchise, it gives him a safe sandbox to play in without making any more questionable changes.

Ever since DB Minus, I was afraid Freeza would be used again, especially since they put in that absolutely atrocious line about Super Saiyan God. But actually, Chuquita, your guess has given me something to look forward to. I hope your guess is right.

If it's a wish that somehow prompts this alternate reality...I'm still not sure how I feel about that, but I could deal with it. I just don't want the other universes that we just learned about in Battle of Gods to turn out to be alternate ones.

In all seriousness, though, I was thinking the wish would be a bit less far-reaching, but, yeah, that'd be cool if it was changed so far back that Goku had no idea he was a Saiyan at all.

Gotta be a God based transformation. I'm kinda eager to see what it is even though transformations are really overplayed in Dragon Ball.

I wouldn't consider this another universe in the way Beerus described; instead I'd think of it as the same Universe 7 only altered/messed around with.

I hadn't thought of Gokû at all. You really could make this "The Vegeta Movie" if Gokû ended up being affected by it.

If it were to diverge some time during the Freeza arc, Piccolo and Gohan would still be friends. That was where I had the split. If it were earlier than that yeah.

Freezer probably gets more transformations and that completely unintended or even intended by somehow forcing it. He is a mutant of his own race and not the kind of "small difference" mutant that we all are. There is no reason for him to not mutate any further. I excpect Freezer to mutate easier than we do.

I wonder how Nakao's performance will be. He was obviously still very good in Kai but it didn't quite have the same menace his original delivery had. I chalk that up to retreading the same material over and over. I wonder if this new starring role will ignite something in him and bring about a performance to rival his original portrayal.

I don't watch One Piece but how was/has his performance been in that?

@ Ajay - I haven't heard any of his work in One Piece, but I've heard that it's just as amazing as his initial Freeza was, so let's see here...

More humorous than Freeza will likely be, but...definitely sounds like he's still got it to me. I know he's pretty great as Kurotsuchi in Bleach too, but I can't seem to find any clips that aren't half-or-full-episodes.

The poster gives me the vibe that Vegeta and who's under him will take care of Frieza and his henchmen while Goku,Beerus and whis are off doing something else which will go with what Toriyama said about Vegeta's role in the movie.
