Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
As luck would have it I'm going to Japan on holiday next May when the movie should be in theatres and I'd love to go see it. It'd be a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to see a DBZ movie in theatres in Japan.
But I don't know where theatres are or how much it'd cost or if it'd be playing at a specific theatre so I don't know if I could actually do it.
I don't understand Japanese so I wouldn't understand it but I'd love to say I saw it in theatres especially since I never got to see Battle of Gods in theatres.

I'm so excited! Frieza is returning. I loved Battle of Gods, and am delighted that Goku will get to finally kill Frieza (like he should have done in the manga). Though I could be entirely wrong, and Vegeta is the one to do it.
I know it's not in his nature to kill (Goku's), but the evil that Frieza possesses is formidable, and extremely dangerous. And now he's back to avenge his death, things are going to get very ugly.
It'd be nice to see Gohan and some of the others get some battle time, hopefully against the 2 new villains. Could we see Frieza make a beeline for Trunks? considering he struck the final blow.
Am hoping to see some of what Whiss is capable of other than a karate chop lol. Good things to come.

I'm most curious to hear Freeza's dialogue. By the end of the Namek arc Freeza had all of his layers peels back to the point he was stripped down to his childish truth. It'll be interesting to see if the layers are all back or just how he plans on executing his revenge.

Hmm...I hadn't thought about that, but I would imagine that his charismatic side will make a return, albeit maybe not as often. It's too much a part of the character, not to mention he did return to that way of talking when he returned briefly at the start of the Androids arc.JulieYBM wrote:I'm most curious to hear Freeza's dialogue. He probably will have that tongue to him but it would still be a bit off if he wasn't more proactive in his attempts at executing his revenge. Even his appearance in the Artificial Humans arc didn't have that sense of urgency to it, although I suspect that is thanks to Toriyama not really thinking ahead. Here he has to plot an entire film instead of fourteen pages at a time, so there's less of an excuse in that respect.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I'm not sure if I would count this as new or not. There have been some recent drawings of characters that previously had the thicker piece of material around the ankle with no part of the pants sticking out, as in the manga, being drawn like this as of recent. A couple of kid Goku drawins and such. I think Toriyama is just trying to be realistic with the depictions since he can take his time on them now. Back with the manga, I imagine it would have been a lot more work to draw it like this in every panel. And we all know he didn't really enjoy the work...Gyt Kaliba wrote:Not just that, but it looks like he's got these really thin blue bands holding down the bottom of his pants, where they're kind of tapering away. It's pretty minimal, but it's kind of cool to see that even Kuririn's getting something new going on here...even if I severely miss his Battle of Gods hair already.
So it's technically "new", but I don't think it's supposed to be different.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Going by Yamamuro's comments about designing for Kami to Kami it seems he too likes to focus on the details of the cloths. Of course, his actualy skill and sense of style is rather suspect in of itself.

If Goku has new boots, I wonder what they'll look like, unless he goes shoeless, which would really be Ryu/Ken like!!

I got so excited with these images that I quickly made a poster with Microsoft Word

I just rearranged the characters positions and got rid of Sorbet and Tagoma (actually I didn't know where to put them

That is awesome swagger. Maybe better then the real poster.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Nice fan poster. If anyone is feeling particularly ambitious I think it would be cool to use the new character art atop a collage of panels from the Namek arc. That would be a cool poster, I think.

Better than the vanilla poster, but Yamhan and God Freeza are still on it, 2/10 would not watch film.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Problem is I wouldn't have any place to put it.

That poster would make for a great wall scroll.
I have to say that it may be the best poster Tadayoshi Yamamuro has made out of all last 7 movies.
I have to wonder though that Yamamuro apparently has made a lot more effort into designing the movie poster with more details. Perhaps he is just merely directing the movie and has finally passed the torch of the title of character designer to someone else?

Oh, so it's Gohan just as I thought. I love his new outfit.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
I like Gohan's outfit, hope this means he'll fight like in the old movies instead of getting one-shotted like against Beerus.
I have a huge feeling Freeza actually isn't going to die in this movie. I think he'll take the God of Destruction position from Beerus somehow

Anybody got full images of Goku and Vegeta?
I'm interested to know why Gohan's in a track suit. Not a big deal, but maybe he's actually training a little.
