I'm so going to explore that part of his story. Man.. Ah, Tenshinhan~~ Why must you be so, so....?
Useless?

*flee*
I'ma kill ya. XD

I was thinking more along the lines of "amazing, handsome, noble, paternal, honorable, humble, tall, and burly." But, I guess I did "trailing off for dramatic effect." <3

Good Lord, this is so off-topic. ><;;; So, umm, +cough+ Tenshinhan, alien or human, doesn't matter 'cuz he's the cool.

Personally, I never considered Tenshinhan to be not human.

Ah, yes. I didn't quote your whole post, so that must mean I totally twisted your words. Naturally.
Come on...
No, I mean, I posted in a whole sentence, and thus you answer me in a whole sentence. Otherwise I won't read your answer.

It's not pointless, though, by my means. If anyone wants to respond to my message, it should be containing my whole post, not my post hacked up in tiny tiny pieces. It hurts too se your creation all killed like that. My post is one thing and should be considered as one thing. Splitting it up makes my own meaning different. Example:

Tommy eats an egg.
This sentence says that Tommy, a person, is eating an egg.

Lets split that up:

Tommy eats.
Now the sentence says that Tommy eats, which now by the way is grammatically incorrect, as it then should say "Tommy is eating".

An egg.
The sentence says "An egg" and does not say anything special. Maybe if you point at an egg and say "An egg", but still you say "This is an egg".

So you loose the message of a post if you split it up! And my post won't be splitted up! Do it and I won't read the answer!

Phew.

I think you're waaaay too sentimental about that... ^^;
Splitting it up makes my own meaning different.
Please show me how I changed the meaning of your message, exactly.

This thread had a really stong lead in the beginning, so how did it lead to paraphrasing..? Anyway, the concept of aliens wasn't formaly introduced until DBZ. So many of the speculations leading towards Ten being an alien should be granted. However, I don't know if the idea that he is a 'human' is too engraved in my head to think otherwise. In DBZ, the term 'earthling' is used more a general term for people from Earth. In the ViZ manga, Raditz refers to Piccolo as "human vermin". Was the idea of the namekians not introduced yet? If Nappa and Vegeta knew of namekians and the rumors of the dragonballs, how come it was a suprise to Raditz? Is he that useless..?

Since when did this forum go from respectable debate to 5 yr old temper tantrums? Shape up you two or get out.

As for Tien, we have 2 sources saying that he is an alien, a daizenshuu and a video game, albeit the daizenshuu is more respectable then the video game, but non-the-less they include the same facts. Unless there is proof that he is not an alien from the manga side or Toriyama himself, we have to go with this. However I've always thought of him more of a Hindu with the Third eye representing Nirvana and the multiple arms representing Shiva, however this could just be the same exact thing that Goku's character did, where Toriyama based his character off of something then changed the character into an alien.

You made it hard when you wrote everything splitted apart. I really hate to read a post like that because of that I have a hard time reading it.

...

jwimz, I agree on the Hindu part that you told about, but still, the thing is that for some of us, the Daizenshuu is as canon as the anime.
Myself, I believe that the Daizenshuu, just as the anime was made just because of the popularity of the series Dragonball. If Dragonball wasn't that popular, and Toriyama still made the series as they look now, no Daizenshuu had been made to say that Tienshinhan is an alien and no videogames to "back it up" either. All that would exist was the original series written by the original author. Who didn't state that Tien was an alien.

Plus, the fact that I don't accept the Daizenshuu is because of that Toriyama isn't the author. If he had written the Daizenshuu, I would have accepted it.

It's like, I can give someone permission to write a sequel to one of my books, and I can bless the outcome, but still there may be some mistakes (factual errors).

I can like Terminator 2 a lot, but still I would like that the Terminator would live with John Connor instead of committing "suicide".

You see my point?

Well, I think that Vegeta and Nappa probably made some research about the Dragonballs before starting to look for them. That sounds logical as Vegeta (not Nappa) seem to be a smart guy.
Vegeta probably found out the location of planet Namek, the strenght of the people there, the dragonballs and the quantity of the population as a plan B. So that's how they knew what Piccolo was.
Their primary objectives were to have revenge on Radditz, and punish Goku for his foolishness. Then, as a plus, they could get immortal and kill Freezer.
