Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

Even though it's sort of the Dragon Ball formula for the next villain to be stronger than the last does anyone think they'll actually make Freeza stronger than Beerus in this movie?

Hmmm... maybe. Toriyama said that the power of a Super Saiyan God depends on the power of the Saiyan who becomes one. If Freeza gets a godly power-up, and it works similarly... then given how Freeza was said to still be more powerful than (non-transformed) Goku in Battle of Gods, as a god himself Freeza could end up a likewise lot stronger than Goku, and possibly even stronger than Beerus.

Great, now I've got myself wondering if the line in Battle of Gods comparing Goku and Freeza was intentional foreshadowing.

The big question is how he gets the power. It would be strange if it was just wished upon him instead of having to forgo a ritual like Goku did. Unless theres a wish that brings his family back to perform the ritual or something I dont quite get how hes gonna achieve the god form.

I'd say these minions already figured out how they will make their master a God, or Frieza will be reborn as a God(it's pretty implied that Frieza will be revived in a different life-form than he used to be), or the minions will trick Goku and steal his god powers and used that energy to upgrade Frieza.

But do not think that statement was intentionally made by Toriyama, but now that can be a plot-device to use. And Toriyama said in an interview after BOG's debute that he didn't think of any continuation, so I don't think that Toriyama had then this story in mind or an idea of it.

I really hope thats not the case. The thought of the Cold family or Freeza and King Cold + 4 extra soldiers holding hands as 5 evil hearted aliens....

Freeza doesn't have any hair, and he's already rail thin, so the thinning effects of Super [Whatever] God will cause his chalk white skin to stick to his bones as he takes an anorexic-like appearance. Oh, and he'll get the SSG aura too. Through the power of FRIENDSHIP, he will look like a skeleton surrounded by fire.

I can not see what are referring to with those villains, can explain that in more detail, what those have to do with Freeza's unusual resurrection?

Well they didn't simply wish it on Goku so I don't think they'd just wish it on Frieza. That'd be pretty lousy and cheap to be honest.

Well they didn't simply wish it on Goku so I don't think they'd just wish it on Freeza. That'd be pretty lousy and cheap to be honest.

It was me who mentioned it. For me it was also very suspicious that Frieza has the same aura like SSJ God Goku had. That would mean that Frieza's race shares the same type of aura when they become Gods? I'm having mid that Beerus has the same God Ki like Goku did, but his aura was really differen, isn't it? What could that mean?

Anyways I do not want a second Majin Buu saga where Gohan was tricked as well by Spopovits and the other(I can not recall the name right now), to steal now Goku's energy in the same way.

If Goku's power were to be stolen then that would make sense for Vegeta to then become a God and be the one to defeat Frieza and to be the main character that Toriyama said he wanted him to be in the next movie.

Like you said though I don't want it to be a retread of the Buu arc. Maybe Frieza could wish to have Goku's power which would then rob Goku of all of his power.

You see, that would a make a sense if Shenlon were the one to steal Goku's God power in favour of Frieza, but Shenlon is able to do that? I mean he was scared by Lord Beerus (power), and Goku is not incomparably weaker than him, which can mean that Shenlon has no power over him... What about that?

This is something that has been discussed before, but Toriyama didn't actually come up with Beerus (Though he did redesign and rewrite his character). Back when he was a Lizard, the idea is that the name was a virus pun. When Toriyama became involved with the project, he mistook the name for a pun on beer, so he made Whis with a whisky pun. That's why we use Beerus here, for incorporating both puns.

Edit: But yeah, those file names are just lazy romanisations. They don't mean anything.

The puns actually work both ways, both for alcohol and colds. At least as it stands at the moment.

I must have missed that discussion since I didn't want to spoil Battle of Gods, at all. Haha. I'll be doing the same when more info comes out for this film.
