Gohan's ki contribution should be enough for Buu's death

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Seiki is used, when Goku tells Krillin he doesn't feel life from Spopowitch. Demonic ki is called Youki and Goku used it, when he sensed Piccolo Daimao's ki from Karin's place.

I'm not sure I follow. When does it say Goku used Seiki in the manga? Or what makes you conclude that Goku is using Seiki? Also I don't understand what you mean by Goku using "Youki." How can Goku generate Demonic Ki? I can understand Goku sensed Piccolo's Ki. But that doesn't necessarily mean he had "Youki" himself. Right? "Youki" would just be a type of Ki. Still falling under general Ki. At least that is how I see it.

Well, apparently, the "genki" part of ki that Gohan contributed may not have been enough to kill Buu. OR, like mentioned above, Gohan was just "newly" resurrected and was not at full power. That's why when Vegeta became living, and lost his halo, he fought Kid Buu while in base form. He was "Newly" resurrected and didn't have enough power to even turn SSJ. The same way Goku was not at full power when he was "alive" again, even though he was SSJ3. Or a plot hole. A small one.

This gets confusing though.... if Yuuki and Shouki were states of mind and health, then Genki should be the "ki" that you have that you use for power: shooting ki blasts and transforming and your power level. So it wasn't taking Gohan's Yuuki and Shouki but just his Genki.

Ah, damn it. We don't fully understand how the ki thing works.
We already know that the "ki being shrinken after resurrection" is invalid.
There have been several times that people were revived in the series and not once were there any statements or hints that your ki actually goes down.

Goku was revived in the saiyan saga and was at full power heading back to Earth through serpentine road.
He needed a senzu bean "after" he arrived back to the planet.

Piccolo was on his way to fight Freeza immediately after being revived with no mention of a ki shrink.
He never knew he would run into Nail.

Goku was revived by Elder Kaioshin to go aid Gohan in the fight with Boo with no mention of a ki shrink.

Trunks was revived after Cell killed him with no mention of a ki shrink.

Vegeta being in base to fight Pure boo means that he was still worn out from his previous fight with him, hence why Goku says for him to be careful as his ki is still low.

It had nothing to do with a resurrection sickness.

Actually, Vegeta was revived but he didn't return to full power and he tried to stall Buu with just his base. Goku even comments that he was still weak from the beating he took while he as dead. So, we have solid proof that being revived, at least, doesn't return you to full power.

That's what I meant. I didn't mean revival equals lower ki.

Buu could be just that hard to destroy, since you have to erase his ki. Perhaps Gohan wouldn't have been able to beat Super Buu either even though he's stronger than him. Super Vegetto was the only one who demonstrated that he could annihilate a piece of Buu completely, and he's the strongest character in the series.

I meant that the terms were used in those situations. Sorry if my comment was a bit unclear.

We don't know how much of this Genki he has, it could only be 33% of his actual Ki, for instance. It could be less. It could even be only as big as a humans Genki for all we know(This is probably unlikely but you never know).
Yeah, I assume genki doesn't vary as much from person to person as overall ki. So a regular Earthling's battle power is 5 and Gohan's is 14 gazillion or whatever, but the amount of genki they have to donate wouldn't vary by nearly that much. In a pinch, this might also explain why when Babidi plugs in the energy Yamu and Spopovitch stole from Gohan into Boo's ball, he wonders how many "hundreds" of Earthlings the two must have gathered energy from.

Heck, maybe genki doesn't even vary at all between a different person's forms. Otherwise Goten and Trunks are being really stupid donating their energy in their regular form, as opposed to as Super Saiyans or as Gotenks. OK, so the kids are pretty stupid, but nothing is done to indicate that them donating their energy like that is supposed to be a mistake.
Not turning Super Saiyan would be suspicious if that was the case, but it's possible that an hour hadn't passed since the last time Gotenks defused (inside Boo).

Incidentally, what word is used by Babidi, Dabra and their other minions when talking about the "energy" used to revive Boo? I know one of the chapter title pages also refers to it as "good energy" but what wording is used in both cases?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
